Dodhia Haveli

Very atmospheric old haveli. Narayan, the care taker was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He made our stay memorable.

The access to rooms was through very steep steps that could be challenging.

Very kind and helpful manager. Great breakfast each day. Air conditioned and room was styled in the manner of a Haveli with a four poster bed and stained glass windows. A taste of the grand days of India

Difficult location to find at night - tucked away in a corner of the pol. It was, however, on the heritage walking trail being a historic building.

It should be better maintained. Serious plumbing issues in the room I had in my first night - no water in the room.

Clean and quiet. The host is the most helpful we have ever experienced. Always at disposal and solves the smallest inconvenience in a second. After speaking with other travelers in Ahmedabad I am certain this is the very best place to stay. We can’t recommend enough!

The old-charm heritage look of the house was great. The cook in the hotel was very helpful and helped us with the micro needs of our toddler.

it's a difficult to find the hotel and reach it, as it's behind the busiest roads of old Ahmedabad city. The experience of reaching the hotel was tiring. No fault of the hotel though. Cabs or cars can't go inside the old city lanes, so one would have to walk to the hotel in the small lanes. I would only recommend this to someone who wants to live in the old city and experience things walking. There is much to see in the old city as well if you are interested in temples, markets, architecture. But if you are a tourist who wants to explore all the parts of Ahmedabad then this might not be the best choice for you just because commuting from here to any other attraction (outside old city) will take significant time
