Hilton York

Room was clean. Good location in the middle of York.

We had a problem with the bath not draining, which we needed to be fixed as we were on our way out for dinner. No one was available, so my husband spent some time on it and got it to drain. Bed was also very hard, did not have a good sleep. First and last experience of a Hilton, will not be returning.

The location

Bar prices were to expensive and the cost of the breakfast was to expensive also.

The room was very cold. The 1st night we didn't sleep much.

Its location is great: easy access to the old town and the main attractions. The staff at the Front Desk were gracious and attentive. The restaurant was good. Rooms were rather large and comfy.

The room did not have a thermostat, so temperature and ventilation could not be regulated. I was told to find and use a fan hidden in the closet. Also, our room was at the end of a long hallway which included steps, making it very uncomfortable to access when pulling heavy luggage --the hotel apparently occupies two different buildings joined together unevenly. The TV sets were state of the art, but were not yet connected to the internet and thus had no access to YouTube or Netflix. Moreover, it did not come with a small fridge of any kind; fortunately a very kind person at the front desk was able to produce one and have it installed in our room (for medications). I felt this hotel did not live up to Hilton standards but this can be fixed easily with some investment in equipment.
