Aurora House Ubud

Rooms look nothing like the photos, very old and dark. Bathroom is disgusting, toilet seat broken, lots of mosquitoes. The electricity in our room was gone for a full 24 hours, while other rooms had electricity. Understandable except it was the way staff handled the situation that annoyed us. We were told an electrician was coming in a rude tone by staff when we inquired. We had to sit in a dark dingy room with no AC, lights, Wi-Fi or way to power our devices. No refund issued for the night of no sleep and a scoff by staff when we expressed that we were unhappy with the situation. A simple apology and refund to guests affected is considered standard procedure.

I stayed 3 night. The staff when you get to see them are very kind and happy to help, but not easy to see during the day and night. There are 2 cats in propriety and one of the is super cute, following you to the room and wanting to cuddles 🥰. On the 2nd day I asked to clean my room and they did it fairly ok. I also asked to change my towel as wasn’t smelling and seeking clean. My shower was poor of water but was ok. I had trouble with the hot water and the owner came to check it straight away, and asking me if I was ok. I liked the lil terrace outside my room. And the propriety is actually nice, typical around Ubud, with a Ganesh at the entry.

The door wasn’t closing completely, living access to lil insects and ants. The curtain in my room was very dirty

1. Light switcher is broken (picture is attached) 2. No water in shower at morning !!! (When I asked the host what happened with the water they said , sorry maintenance !!! So I could not take shower and simply brush my teeth) 3. The door lock in the room is broken (pic is attached) 4. Toilet is broken and shaking 🫨 5. Bed sheets are not fresh

We had the chance to get the room in the corner upstais. It offer better privacy and a view of the sunset; Room has everything you can expect at this price range

It's so noisy that I couldn't really sleep? I'm used to having roosters around because I live in indonesia, but there were so many it was really annoying. It's a town with houses touching each other, not a farm area or where houses have space in between. There should be some sort of regulation about that.

I guess it depends on which room you'll get. The previous stay was fine. But this time the pillows were disgustingly smelly, the room was smelly, the bathroom even more. Wet walls. It's a pity cause it all looks nice, it just smells bad.

The cats were nice

No one was there to check me in, or other guests that arrived after me. The sheets were very stained and there were bugs all over, peeling paint, and the door would not close.
