Absolutely lovely hotel. Staff were so accommodating and friendly. It was our first time visiting family in the area and this will be our regular hotel whenever we visit them now! Looking forward to returning again soon!

great stay

Ptooerty needs looking at..shower didnt work on very hot then adjusted it but came back on very hot when in shower so remained hot...breakfast on xmas morning Was 7 till 8.30 too esrly ..no resident bar on later....and member of staff wasnt very helpful checking in when asked if we voukd vme for breakfast later msybe 9 am but clesrly said no! So didnt bother nextday just left...i think they need to work on this if inviting people t stay for xmas if yiu cant accomadate your customer then dont open over xmas period...well the hotel end anyway..tho xmas day lunch was lovely a litte over crowded maybr take less bookings if cant cope..but the lunch was lovely ..

It would have been a positive review if the shower had not been extremely dangerous with only scalding water whatever the control setting. Even splashing the water off the wall was not sufficient to cool the water to a reasonable temperature. When reported I was told they had had several complaints about this but inferred that it was people not adjusting the settings correctly. I was then told the shower had been tested and was OK. Over more than 30 years I have used hundreds of different showers and I can assure them it wasn't near to acceptable. Someone came and adjusted the settings of the shower also saying he would adjust the boiler to give a lower temperature. There was a slight improvement but the shower was still far too hot to use normally. This was reported but the next day there was no improvement. When I checked out and reported it again there was a glib 'Oh sorry about that' as if it was trivial. This issue was never taken seriously and throughout there was a denial that there was a problem and any issues were our fault and no form of resolution was offered. Whether there is a problem with the thermostat or the cold water supply I do not know but this serious issue had been reported by several people and been ignored. If anyone gets scalded or worse in the future I will be happy to confirm our experiences for any litigation.

Nice place to stay. A little underwhelming on arrival. Outside is a little tired, made our way into what was believed to be reception, but no one around. Asked one of the waitresses about booking in, only to be shown through the dinning room to a desk at the far end of the room by the bar. Not a good start. A gentleman said he would find someone to book us in, a few mins past when a lady arrive, obviously just put a cigarette out as it was a strong smell. But very pleasant lady booked us in and asked if we was staying for dinner later in the day, we booked as we had travel from down south. Went to the room, very nice and clean. Dinner was nice and plentiful. Waiting staff very confident in what they do, very friendly young people. Young man was very nice. Morning breakfast - greeted by a nice young girl, blonde hair, smartly dressed. Other members of staff not so smart more in a casual attire. So not a good look. But all very pleasant. Plenty to choose from, pastries, toast, jams, juice. And then the cooked was good, nice and warm on nice hot plates. In all a really nice place. You can see that they are a work in progress, we will return again as I like to stay twice in a place to give it the review it deserves. I booked this place as I saw it on the hotel inspector and thought that they looked like a place that can get to where they need to be. Give it a try, look over the outside, real nice place

Short staffed on both days resulted in poor service during breakfast on the second day ie served 3 tables after us and missed us out. Also no towel rail or shelving in bathroom for storage. Only one bedside cabinet for a family room. Room was cleaned to a good standard but the shower curtain smelled very mouldy. Would be excellent if they made a few improvements and staff mentioned they were short staffed.

Very nice place. Cosy bed and a delicious breakfast.

We stay just over night in this hotel. It was clean light and bright. Staff where very happy helpful people. Although we didnt stay to eat the food coning out looked amazing. Would definitely go back but next time might try the full package Dinner bed and breakfast.

Very friendly a d welcoming staff. Dog friendly and very accommodating. Lovely food at the restaurant, nice selection of wine. Generous breakfast. Very good location for any tourist attractions in the vicinity. Very good value for money.
