"Incredible experience!!!"

10.0

We stayed here on our engagement night. Everything was absolutely perfect — it was everything we dreamed of and more. My fiancée was completely surprised and loved every single detail. We will without a doubt be returning and recommending The Lafayette to everyone we know. A huge shout-out to the incredible staff who made this night unforgettable: • Alex at Quixote • Hannah at the poolside patio & for the dinner • Gabriel, Lynnea, Jesse, and Ryan • The concierge who welcomed us in and set the most perfect tone for the entire day — thank you! • The kitchen crew whose food was absolutely delicious • The bartenders who had every single guest raving about the drinks This was a truly exceptional experience from start to finish. We are so grateful to each and every one of you for going above and beyond to make the night extra special and memorable. The Lafayette has a lifelong fan in us!

"Once in a lifetime experience!"

6.0

We celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary here this past weekend. The staff is GREAT. The room was lovely. Our only dining experience was at the diner and it was pretty good. My dirty Tini at the Main Bar was lackluster at best. It's true, this is primarily a club and it was packed. Sooo loud. (I did enjoy the earplugs) Lou lou's was a blast from the past and the music was great! This is an experience, for sure! We stayed for one night and we loved it for what it was. Esthetically pleasing. Although we didn't use it, the "mini" bar was out of this world! Loved that you could purchase anything from it, including the ice bucket etc.

"It’s not a Hotel rather a Nightclub"

2.0

This establishment is not a hotel; it is a day/night club characterized by excessive noise levels. Notably, earplugs are provided at the night table, which serves as a warning sign. This hotel is not suitable for families with children. If you are seeking a tranquil and peaceful hotel, this is not the appropriate choice. While the hotel is aesthetically pleasing, the rooms are compact. There are no drawers to store clothes from the suitcase. The bathroom is small, and the shower has only half of the glass, resulting in water splashing onto the entire floor. To operate the shower, you will be drenched in freezing cold water. The hotel offers day passes to non-guests for access to the pool, but I was unable to secure a chair by the pool, as all available chairs were occupied by 8:30 am. Despite paying a significant amount of money, hotel guests do not have priority access to hotel amenities, including the pool. This establishment should either be classified as a hotel or a nightclub. I would never recommend this hotel unless you are an individual under the age of 25 who enjoys nightlife.

"This is not a hotel, and not at all family friendly"

2.0

Why is this place even called a hotel? The rooms are tiny - nowhere to put your luggage at all. The insulation is nonexistent - expect to hear every partygoer walking by your room. You can hear and feel the vibration from the nightclub down below. I think the positive reviews here are all from people that came here for drinks, dinner, etc. Their website is impossible to navigate as well and did not make it clear that this would be the case. I should have run when I saw the ear plugs on the nightstand. The staff are completely unhelpful. We attempted to check in early - our rooms were not ready yet so we checked our luggage with them and went to the diner on property to have a snack and some drinks while we waited. The diner menu is not what you would expect and entirely non-kid-friendly. I was told that we would be texted “momentarily” when our rooms were ready. 2 hours later, at normal check in time, we went to check with the front desk again. They said they had texted us an hour and 15 mins ago. My husband and I had separate rooms on separate reservations and neither one of us got a text. I got a text from the concierge after he went and checked with them and got our keys. We had also checked our luggage with them under our names and they put it all in one room, despite the entirely separate reservations and separate names on the tags. The showers are half open and don’t have a door - flooding the room with water anytime anyone takes a shower. I had to put a robe down on the floor to sop it up after the towel got drenched. The beds are comfortable, but don’t expect to sleep in this night-club of a “hotel.” This is a drunk person’s crash pad at best. I wish that had been made clearer on the website. I’m writing this while feeling the base through the floor and hearing the music and drunk people stumble by and slam doors while my sick kid thankfully mostly sleeps through it because of the meds he took. Don’t make my mistake - I wouldn’t stay here if you’re over the age of 25, and definitely not with kids.

"Weekend getaway"

10.0

This hotel was AMAZING! From the moment we checked in, everyone was so kind and welcoming. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully put together. You can really tell the staff care about making guests feel at home. Little touches throughout the hotel and restaurants made the stay feel extra special.Everything about our stay was smooth and relaxing. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave! I would recommend it to anyone visiting.Definitely a 5-star experience and we can’t wait to come back!

"Worth checking out on a hip-hop happening night"

8.0

My friend brought me here to check this place out. What a trip! I was so lost and there was so much to look at. I went to heaven and hell there were tons of lights, but not very much music. I enjoyed taking it out maybe it was an off night and Lulu‘s was closed.

"Lame Party Hotel That Will Be Dated In 2 Years"

2.0

Stunning design and some kind folks behind the counter but like every trendy hotel I have ever stayed in for the past ahem decades - a total disaster, It is first and foremost a party hotel - I would imagine that most of the folks partying aren't even staying here. Loud music from 10am until all hours - no security whatsoever. And the partying continues until at least 4am (and this on a Tuesday!!!). The design is stunning. The bathroom floods, there was no shower gel in the bottle upon arrival and had to TEXT someone to get a bottle that took 30min. Like the Ian Schragers, Soho Grands, Mondrians, Soho Houses - these hotels all put partying over hotel guests and well we know what happened there. If you cherish your sleep, any sleep do not stay here. How about a clean room? Well don't expect that either. And if you do stay here - I would avoid the weekends. I came on the tail end of a weekend it was bedlam here. It's for local SD folks and the like who think they are cool. but are loud and trashy. And not feeling safe in a hotel is not a great feeling. Public access to the rooms, which means extra noise by the pool. I never saw any sort of security and with a property this size + alcohol - it is a wonder that more awful things haven't happened.

"Memorably stunning and a photo magnet!"

10.0

A quintessential cocktail lounge experience that blends the ages, and sumptuously blends Alice in Wonderland, the French Quarter, and Lady Gaga's inner thoughts into a visual and tactile treat. The hotel and focal point pool are beautiful, combining into what I think is the current crown jewel of Consortium Holding's collection of cool, quirky, and fun restaurants and places to hang. We all fell in love with Morning Glory's brunches, but it didn't take long to discover (and surmise) their ownership of other stunning projects and places. Kudos to these guys and their exceedingly and much appreciated high standards! What a team!!! And what a happy house of contributing staff members!!! Many thanks to them all. And to the Lobster Benedict and Soufflé Pancakes!!! That's happiness on a plate. 🥞

"Eye-Popping Design, Romance, the perfect Getaway"

10.0

This place was out of this world. Went for my birthday, a weekend trip from Los Angeles. The perfect hideaway, so romantic, so glamorous, so glorious. Two in-house restaurants and a full bar in your room! If there were curtains, stripes, tassels wallpaper tilework possible to put on furniture walls floors, it's on there. Kind of Art Deco/New Orleans themed... Recommend the back units unless you are a partier, a teenager, or stone-deaf. The double layered rooms around the pool with their striped awnings and French doors and fans and lounge chairs are gorgeous beyond belief, but there is piped in music all day and most of the evening. Not for us. The pool was designed by Johnny Weissmuller (of Tarzan fame), lovely lounge chairs rayed down the length, and you can sit outside the bar and just have your morning coffee and dig it. It's a place you really don't have to go anywhere--we had dinner one night in the Don Quixote room--the food was fantastic, drinks wonderful and the surroundings unbelieveable (we were in the Uber-romantic dark side room--actually had to turn on our phone flashlights to see the our food). Ate each morning in the diner, which also serves outside after 9 am. yum. (There's also a good Russian/Georgian restaurant, Pomegranate, across the street of you like a kind of casserolish cuisine). A memorable birthday, absolutely loved this place.
