Motel 6-Greensboro, NC - I-40

Friendly, caring, and professional young man at registration desk. I don't blame Motel 6 for the incident described below. I probably should have arrived at the motel earlier. It was around 9:30-10:00 pm when I attempted to check in.

I only spent 15 to 20 minutes on this property as I was accosted by a group of young hoodlums that attempted to extort money from me saying that I hit a vehicle with my car but they wouldn't say anything to anyone if I gave them $40.00. I felt threatened and was concerned for my safety, and the young man at the office desk realized that I was stressed and under duress, so he kindly escorted me to the room where I had already taken my luggage. So I retrieved my luggage and left the site immediately. In looking back at the incident I probably should have got the police involved, but I was so concerned what these hoodlums whould do next, I took flight. I have attempted to have Booking.com resolve the issue about refunding the $344.44 that was taken from my checking account, but find that they don't seem to be interested in taking the proper action on my complaint. Their website directs me to an AI computer that keeps asking over and over my reservation number and all I have to offer is the confirmation number. I don't see any reservation number on any of the correspondence with Booking.com. The AI computer doesn't give and option to talk with a live person or even a contact number. There has been several responses from Booking.com including: on 11/11/25 "Sorry to hear about your recent experience", on 11/13/15 "We asked Motel 6 to look into your recent experience. Customer Service will contact you shortly", again on 11/13/25 "Your issue has been escalated, and you will receive an update as soon as possible". All the Booking.com responses have been electronically. This issue could be so easily taken care of if Booking.com would provide an individual for us to discuss this unfortunate and traumatic incident.
