Gorgeous hotel set in extensive grounds with a spa,gym, pool and golf course. We were a party of 7 who had gathered for George Michael tribute night to celebrate a special birthday . We started with afternoon tea- delicious 😋 . The tribute act included a great disco and a 3 course meal , all fantastic and at a very reasonable price. The staff were OUTSTANDING, so attentive and professional. A friend became unwell and the staff helped us much! Thank you,we will be back!

Service was a bit slow at times

Spur of the moment trip through SE. Two nights, the room wasn’t what was pictured when I booked , it was ok but needed a few bits sorting, black scuff marks on walls, plastic toilet seat stained from use, mattress’s not very good and well used and could do with a fridge. Food first night was fair starter was zapped in microwave I think as chewy and over cooked but main was ok, steak second night was awful with lots of fat. They did remove our drinks off the bill because if this so that was fair. Swimming pool was what decided this hotel for me as I wanted to chill, steam room out of order, jacuzzi out of order, pool was lovely and warm but the surrounding was terrible. The floor tiles are all breaking up and how no one has sliced their foot open I don’t know, this must be a safety issue, the door frames are dirty and mouldy around bottom and the beds were dirty. Needs attention. The whole place was a bit shabby chic but definitely more shabby, wood beams in restaurant thick dust, stained sofa in corridor. I could go on but can’t be bothered, don’t think we will be back.

The grounds off the hotel was absolutely gorgeous, the room was spacious and able to accommodate the 3 of us. We didn't manage to have breakfast as little one was still asleep so unsure what that is like. Gorgeous wedding venue.

Although the pool was gorgeous to look at it was outdated, There was no signs to show how deep the pool was There was not enough chairs to sit on The showers was small and there was only 2 and not very clean.

A 2 night birthday celebration break with friends . A beautiful old building . Amazing food . Absolutely exceptional service from all staff. Special thanks to Dan - you are a total credit to the hotel - they are very lucky to have you . Rarely do we experience such attention to detail and quality service. Could be wonderful buts needs a good deep clean and update, golf course nicely kept. Breakfast precooked served by staff from warmers but dry and Luke warm. Pool nice size and warm but The leisure centre walls in places rusty /breaking up concrete could do with renovation. Was an ok stay windows only open a small way so in the heat was difficult to get any air.

A really lovely period property with pretty grounds, good food and friendly staff

The property could do with some maintenance and updating to bring it back to its former glory. The pool was lovely but a bit warn out. as were public areas and furniture.
