Extended Stay America Suites - Kansas City - Shawnee Mission

After calling for an early check in we arrived to check in with the room not ready. We were told it would be 30-45 minutes so we went to eat. Came back waited another 30 minutes to be given our keys with the maid still in our room. We just needed 15 minutes to drop things off and freshen up so the maid was nice enough to let us do that. When we returned several hours later we didn’t have a shower curtain nor any extra toilet paper that was almost gone. Called the front desk to request it be put in our room as we were headed out to dinner. Female on the phone was very short and rude about my requests. Arrived back to our room several hours later to have nothing placed as requested. Walked to the front desk where we dealt with the same lady on the phone whose attitude was just the same. Made us feel like our requests were interrupting her as she had NO customer service what so ever. Got back to the room having to hang our own shower curtain, which was not the issue, to find out our TV didn’t work as our remote fell apart picking it up. Our white towels were brown from walking on the floor so we had to keep a towel on the floor for cleanliness of our feet. We were booked at this hotel for a total of 4 weekends due to baseball for which I quickly cancelled.

Staff were great. Room was not so great. Electrical issues, broken drawers, dirty unswept floors, slow bathroom sink drain and running tub faucet.

Does not look like the pictures. Smells terrible, floors are sticky and stained, no dishes are provided in the kitchen, and there is a rough looking crowd staying here. Also, their breakfast consists of prepackaged muffins and oatmeal.

I'm from NW Kansas and don't expect to find my Hotel room so filthy as yours with sticky floors and counter top with food still stuck on them. Sorry that you can't find better cleaning help than that. There was dog poop in the bathroom and food, trash etc... under the beds. I hope that there weren't bedbug with all the other bugs that were found. YOU SHOULD NOT BE A PROUD OWNER OFTHE HOTEL.

Horrible/ roaches/ mold smell

None of it room was dirty bedding dirty

I left after observing unsafe room conditions. #174 Mice droppings all along the floor near door and window, with a hole clear to the outside at the side bottom side panel next to door where mice must come in. Food in the kitchen sink just sitting in the drain. Floor hadn't been cleaned because the mice droppings would not have been there. Unhealthy, unclean and unsafe to stay in those room conditions. Feared for my health. Ask for a refund on my room. They were totally booked with no rooms. I took pictures and showed them to Philip the employee that checked me out and told me he would leave the info about my refund with the Manager, he couldn't do the refund for me.
