Red Roof Inn Southfield

Renovation of this property is very good. I could tell that the property is relatively new. Not much staff during my stay but the guy who checked me in was very polite and courteous. I'll be booking my next hotel stay again.

What was expected

Property is as advertised, It’s convenient, close to everything Detroit it’s clean,very quiet and cannot be beat for the price If you’re looking for the Ritz Carlton Hotel for a family vacation, this is not it , But if you’re looking for a clean safe place to lay your head this is the most bang for your buck.

I had a reservation for a king size non smoking with amenities since I am handicap. I called the same day to confirm the reservation. After being at the hospital and my sister having a very long surgery I went to check in to the room only to find out the room had been cancelled, not on my behalf. The man that checked me in offered me a room that was being renovated that would be no charge for the night. Upon leaving the hotel this GM told me to go to desk before leaving. They said they were giving me a "discount" for the room, which wasn't what was discussed when checked in. I live across state and just got home 2 days later and called regarding the charge, this so called GM Husein that doesn't know how to speak to customers compared me with going to McDonald's. His employee did offer the free room if I stayed and could tell I was exhausted! This hearsay GM doesn't want to discuss anything with his employees he's very rude, he don't care about the people that come to the RRI I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO STAY, ESPECIALLY when they will just throw you in a non full working room! I will be taking this higher!
