La Palmeraie De Massa

We were on a self organized birding trip by car to Sousse Massa National Park and this hotel was just positioned right for us. Super friendly people and delicious home cooked dinner was always a perfect ending of the day. Our room was spacious and clean with comfortably firm bed matresses. We also spent time on the terrasse which was overlooking the river bed. Nice view with active birdlife! Thank you for the hospitality, we enjoyed our stay a lot!

The property is in a very quiet rural area overlooking gardens and with a really good swimming pool. The view from the terrace across the fields was lovely. The staff tried to be helpful and the breakfast was generous. We were pleasantly surprised and pleased to find that the place sold alcohol. Lunch and dinner were authentically local, freshly cooked to order, very inexpensive and were extremely good quality and quantity. We could park our car in a shaded spot and, despite the extreme heat, the air con in the room and the shade in the gardens meant we could relax.

On arrival we felt the room looked less inviting than we expected and the cleanliness was poor. There were several clumps of hair on the floor and a lot of flies in the room. Flies were a big problem at meal times too. The staff were lovely but they didn't always transfer that to the service. For example, on the last day we asked for breakfast at 8 as we had to leave by 9 and no-one arrived to prepare food until 8:30. There was another evening where they didn't realise we wanted dinner and they had to prepare something simple in a rush. As is common in Morocco they only take cash. We kept asking for bills so we could ensure on our last morning we would have enough Dirhams to pay. The process was a bit vague and last minute although the bill itself was accurate and inexpensive. If you want an adult only rest this may not for you as you share the place with the family who have several young children.

Très bel établissement familial. Nous avons été vraiment bien reçu. Si vous passez dans la région, il ne faut vraiment pas hésiter à si arrêter. Nous avons pris le repas du soir et le petit déjeuner et c'était excellent.

A quiet retreat with a garden and pool next to agricultural fields. We liked the “off the beaten path” feel to it. The meals were delicious and the family was friendly.
