Bybrook Barn Bed & Breakfast

Quirky, remote, brilliant host, exceptional breakfast. If you are looking for a boring, corporate hotel with faceless staff, fluffy white towels and mini boutique toiletries, then this is not for you. However if you fancy something slightly off the beaten track with a bohemian feel, an excellent, friendly host an outstanding breakfast, beautiful surroundings,mismatched towels, full size toiletries then this is for you!

A little on the small size to what we are used to, but we are now a lot older, more portly and less flexible.

Hillary is a very friendly and likeable woman, who makes an amazing breakfast. The room was small but extremely comfortable and the location for us was great. There is a lovely pub called The Griffin Inn just a short drive away in the village which has good pub food.

Great location down a quiet lane, beautiful nature all around. Lovely garden with great sunset, very confortable and well decorated room, delicious home made breakfast. But mostly, the very warm welcome of Hilary and her lovely crew (husband, dogs and horses!) A very special place we will happily return to.

The place was lovely and quiet, the food was fantastic, Hilary was lovely, I felt very welcomed.

From our initial booking to departure we couldn't have asked for more. Prior to our arrival we were given clear & concise instructions on how to find Bybrook farm. On arrival we were greeted by Hilary & shown to our accommodation, a self contained garden room with a beautiful view of the well presented garden & stables. The Garden room had a spacious & charming living area with a large separate shower room, both rooms containing everything we needed for our stay. There were many little things carefully & very thoughtfully placed within the living/sleeping area which I now look back at and say wow!, that was beautifully clever & shows a deeper desire to make her guests feel very welcome. We had a great couple of nights sleep in a comfortable & spacious bed, the surroundings were very quiet with nothing to interrupt our sleep. The table was small but practical making room for a large settee with a good view of the flat screen TV. The twin patio doors could provide maximum ventilation in the hotter months although we found the Garden room to be a comfortable temperature for our stay. The shower room was thoughtfully set out with a large shower & electric shower that provided both heat & flow, again everything was provided to make this an exceptional experience. We were invited to the main house for breakfast, the full English was first class, & guests were given the opportunity to request something else, this genuinely came across as putting Hilary's guests first & again emphasising the desire to make people happy, All in all, this was an amazing stay in a beautiful location with beautiful people. If your quest is for a rural & peaceful environment with as much or little interaction as required & the "nothing is too much trouble" attitude this is the place for you. A big thank you to Hilary & partner & all other hands behind the scenes making this an exceptional getaway location.

Everything - I haven't slept that well in a long time. Everything is set up for a peaceful stay, there are nice walks nearby, lots of light and nature. Breakfast was delicious and all in all, it is a special place.
