Saxenburg Wine Farm

A positive may be excellent security but negatives spoilt our stay

We rented cottage 1 and 3. Our comments are specifically related to apartment 3 (1 bed ). Depressingly unsatisfactory throughout, in particular the bed was absolutely unfit for purpose, but all facilities to include shower and kitchen needed change to a habitable standard. No apologies from staff at any stage throughout our stay. The pool is in a disgusting state and only on day we were leaving did a man appear to try and scrub the walls and floor of black mould like stuff. 3 bed cottage was OK but whole stay spoilt by cottage 1 and condition of pool

Nice location with a separate restaurant next door. We would consider Saxenburg a visit next time we are making holiday in South Africa.

Central location. Comfortable. Staff helpful. Restaurant on site convenient.

Small problem of a bad smell in bathroom basin cupboard. Not a complaint, just an observation.

It was a lovely cottage on the wine farm. The location was good as we had a wedding 20 minutes away.

Enjoyed the wine tasting.

Room was dim and stuffy. No air conditioning or fan and the only light into the room was through a small glass panel door. Patio was a small bricked area with an umbrella that could not be opened due to the wind. No lights next to the bed and thus had to use a cell phone light to navigate around the room at night. Kitchen was small and the room needs to be refurbished. Mattress was on the budget end and not very comfortable. Not a place to spend your 40th wedding anniversary. Certainly not value for money.

The views are excellent, vary spacious with luxuries bathrooms
