"Harmony resort helped me to relax"

9.0

Food, friendly staff was excellent. They attended to my every need from check in to check out. The cleaning staff treated me like family. Receptionist had very good customer service skills that made me forget about my stressful day.

I didn't like that I couldn't stay longer due to business obligations.

"Not recommendable for solo female traveller"

5.0

It is right by the beach and clean.

While the staff is friendly and helpful, most of the male staff try to hit on female guests travelling alone. The pool was not heated and the water very cold. The garden and pool area were rented out for weddings on three nights, while interesting to see, it also turned the place from a quiet boutique hotel into a bustling party. Credit card payment was not possible, even though it had been confirmed by the hotel, resulting in a higher price. The location is very far out, which is great for a stay at the beach but always requires organizing transport for anything else.

"Pleasant"

6.0

The hotel was clean & comfortable with a pleasant restaurant & a good spread for breakfast. You could order meals in the evening which would be delivered to your room if necessary. Steven the chef was always very pleasant & obliging as qere the other members if staff. It was lovely to see the monkeys running freely around the complex.

The TV in the room was a bit dodgy, along with the shower which had no water to start, fortunately this was soon resolved after a couple of visits to Steven. The lady in charge made us feel uncomfortable at times. Check out time was 12 noon, I asked if I could stay a bit longer as I had an evening flight. This was possible at half the cost of the room even though the hotel was half empty !!! She was sat watching everyone leave to make sure we were off site at noon ! Steven very kindly offered me a space to safely keep my suitcase to save me from taking it to the beach for the day. I then picked it up at 6pm when leaving for my flight.

I had the junior suite. so it was good. breakfast is good. it needs some variation for people staying a week. maybe offer some Gambian dishes. close to beach. nice and breezy balcony and terrace.

internet is a bit erratic. would be good to have a bottle of water.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is near the beach and it has a pool. All the rooms (except for 1 i think) open towards the courtyard where the pool is and look out towards the see. Breakfast was included in the price and served between 7-10. Lunch and dinner were available in the restaurant in the hotel. The wifi worked well in both the room and communal areas.

"Resort? Boutique?"

2.0

Close to beautiful Brufut beach, quiet at night. Great views from terrace over palm trees towards the ocean. AC and WiFi worked well. Enough storage space in bathroom.

Paint peeling off the building and the pool (with dirty sun loungers). It said our Executive Suite has: Free toiletries, Sofa, Desk, Seating Area, Ironing facilities, Iron, Dressing Room and Sanitizer - all not true (except for the seating on the balcony). Two single beds pushed together and covered with one sheet. Behind it a wood imitating plastic wall, with a simple wardrobe on the other side. No chair, no table, no desk, no luggage rack. Fridge in a half broken cupboard. Two small nightstands almost falling apart. No bedlamps. No waste bucket in the bathroom and just one set of towels for two. We couldn't use the handshower, since it was broken. We were not told to switch on the boiler for hot water. Big black cockroaches in the suite at night. Mentioning the shortcomings to the only person at the hotel on all evenings, the man said: 'Not my business, I am only the cook'. At 8.30pm on arrival day all that was available for dinner were meat and sausage pies lying on the counter. During our 5 days there the same 'Menu of the day' on a blackboard. On its other side the 'Cocktail of the day', a Singapore Sling. Inquiring about it, the cook said: 'I don't drink. I don't know'. We never went back for dinner. For breakfast: water melon, jam, butter, slices of old bread, plus nescafé sachets and tea bags (we got eggs after asking for it). A woman cleaning the floor with a wet mop during our breakfast. Starting only at 8am we didn't have any other breakfast, since this is too late, when one goes on excursions. Taking the key along, because nobody at reception, the suite wasn't serviced. The room maid then said, that she couldn't enter, since the other key to the suite were broken.

"great resort to start your experience in Gambia."

10.0

intimate boutique style that’s close to the beach

how small the rooms were, it was hard to move from one side of the room to the other. would be better to reposition the bed in front of the closet and get a wardrobe to replace the closet.
