Hotel el Manglar

Location, location, location. The hotel is located just four blocks from the centro histórico and two blocks from the lagoon. After a little bit of a mix up about the room we had reserved, everything was taken care of to our satisfaction. Randy at the reception desk was friendly and very helpful. The vegan breakfast was simple but filling. The room was simply decorated but comfortable for a good nights sleep. The courtyard was relaxing. A good place to rest in Bacalar.

The Wi-Fi in the room did not function well. Sitting in the courtyard though it worked fine.

The location of the hotel was good. Central but not in the busyness of the main street.

There was mold everywhere in the room and It smells bad. The warm water was not working, there was not even water comming out of the tap. They fixt it but it took 1 day. Also it was very noisy and in the evening and night there is no staff in the hotel. Breakfast was the same every day

It was in a quiet location, the staff was kind and helpful.

The room had only a tiny window (you can actually see it on the hero picture of the hotel), so AC was a must, the shower was worn out and squirting water randomly, quite unusable.

Clean, quiet, safe, friendly staff and good breakfast. This hotel was the best we stayed whilst backpacking around Mexico for 3 weeks.

Nothing really, only minor improvement would be a bit of variation for breakfast e.g. fruit

Very good, quiet and clean place. Hosts are extremely friendly. Big room, comfortable bed - all you need for resting during your trip. Mexican breakfast was delicious. The price/quality rate is one of the topmost. Highly recommend.

The water in shower could be a bit warmer. It is kind of refreshing ☺️

The hotel is in a great location, not far from the lagoon and close to restaurants. Breakfast was plenty but it was hard to order as the breakfast cooks only spoke Spanish.

The water pressure in the shower was zero and not much water was coming out. Lots of mosquitoes outside the rooms.

Everything was fantastic and we got a delicious local breakfast every day included in the price too. The location is great - a very short walk to the centre and lagoon. The hosts (Adrian and Danny) went above and beyond to help us. They are so friendly, generous and accommodating - honestly the nicest people you will ever meet. We extended our stay because we didn’t want to leave! We could not recommend this hotel enough. We are travelling Central America and this is, by far, our favourite hotel we have stayed at - make sure you book here.

Amazing breakfast (original and local food cooked ad hoc for you by lovely ladies) and king size bed (but pillows were totally uncomfortable)

WiFi wasn't working properly. Shower pressure was ridiculous.

The rooms are perfect and the service by the kind staff is great. The brothers help you with all your questions and try their best to give you a welcome feeling. Daniel offeres a sailing boat tour and took us on a day out. This was a perfect way to explore the beautiful lake on a sailing boat. He explained a lot and learned us a lot about the Mexican culture. In conclusion, a very pleasant experience and a wonderful day out on a boat.

Great location - very central. Pretty hotel with nice garden and secure parking which was essential for us. Room was simple but nice. Stayed very cool and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The staff were very nice.

Shower wasn't very powerful, but there was hot water. WiFi didn't work very well in the room, but was fine in the garden.
