Plus, the convenience of three nearby 24-hour markets ensures you'll never be far from essentials. Finally and most importantly, the host goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. She’s fluent in English and happy to offer personalized recommendations and even create a proposed itinerary to maximize your time in Kyoto.

We had a wonderful stay. The property is very well appointed, comfortable and exceptionally clean. The location is also fabulous.

Very clean and nicely done. Stashed away in a quiet alley amidst bustling roads/tourist hotspots. Minutes from key attractions like Kiyomizu-dera and Yasaka shrine. Could have stayed a night more. Too short a trip! Host natsuki is great and conversant in English! Very helpful in providing details about the neighborhood and what to do!

We chose Kyomachiya Suite Rikyu because it‘s the perfect location for our wedding ceremony and wedding reception venues. Really love the concept and feels very homey. The stay adds up as part of sweetest memories we had during our wedding day. To top it off, was really sweet of the hosts (T & N) for their warm welcome and wedding gift for us!

We booked this accommodation for 4 nights and it was absolutely incredible. What a great feeling to live as a local in a traditional japanese house! Natsuki warmly welcomed us with a big smile and a lot of enthusiasm. She was really nice. We also appreciated having a large genkan, a spacious tatami area and a perfect typical bathroom (with lovely view to the small garden!) to relax after long walking days. なつきさん、ありがとうございました。ではまた。 Kevin & Anaïs

In all honesty, they surprised us beyond our expectations. The location is perfect, the house is amazing and the staff could not have been better.

We loved our stay at this charming Japanese townhouse, which was the perfect blend of tradition and modern comfort. Our hostess Natsuki was incredibly responsive and helpful before and during our stay, and even offered valuable suggestions for exploring Kyoto. The property is walking distance to some of Kyoto's main attractions, yet located in a quiet and lovely local neighborhood. True to the photos, but better in person.

We loved everything. Just a heads up, the second bedroom involves setting up a Japanese futon on tatami mats in the downstairs room. We didn’t mind this at all, as it adds a charming and authentic touch to the experience.
