Kyomachiya Suite Rikyu

We loved our stay in this traditional Japanese house! Our hostess, Natsuki, was wonderful. She prepared a document for us showing all the things to do in area. She was always available if you need any help in the area. The house was spotless, and the location was phenomenal! I traveled with my two kids and they absolutely loved the experience. Everything is walkable and within reach. I also found the washer & dryer very useful in the house. A great choice for a stay in Kyoto!

[a family of four adults from the US.] This property would be our first pick when visiting again. The property was beautiful, convenient, and the hostess was charming and hospitable. We were happily surprised with the suggested itinerary and restaurant recommendations she provided. It was within walking distance of several sights. The property was designed well, very clean and had everything we needed. We chose it because of the interior design and it exceeded our expectations. The single bathroom for four adults was a concern before arriving, but because the toilet area and bathing areas were split, it was not an issue. We were there during a very hot week and the AC worked very well. We also made good use of the laundry machine. Of note for taller occupants, it is a newly refurbished property in a historic district and a couple doorways and the ceiling in the loft bedroom are lower than US standard. We found it charming and not an inconvenience to us.

Very cute home, very close to historic part Gion and important historic attractions. Very clean, Natsuki, the owner, was very kind and friendly.

Additionally, the shower was a highlight - strong water pressure and luxurious bath and hair products. I also found the washer (with dryer) very useful. A great choice for a stay in Kyoto!

70 year old updated Japanese townhouse in amazing location. We loved it and my daughter's were sad to leave. Highly recommended

Everything! Location in a quiet and historical area of Kyoto, close to the most beautiful temples, cleanliness, perfect size for a family and traditional Japanese feeling without missing comfort and new materials and appliances. But mostly the owner Natsuki who was the kindest and most accommodating host ever, her smile, help, availability and details made our stay!
