Excellent stay. Beautiful townhouse. Location is absolutely perfect. Host was kind, helpful and planned a personalized itinerary for us based on our stay dates. If it is available on your dates book it!

Style - tops. Superb modern remodel of a traditional townhouse. The street is quiet. The location outstanding.

We really enjoyed the Kyomachiya, as well as the location in Gyon, which is very central to many attraction points in Kyoto, such as Kiyomizu Temple or Yasaka Shrine. Natsuki san has been a very friendly and amazing host, being really well prepared, attentive and giving us very good recommendations. She even prepared a personal itinerary based on the amount of time we stayed in Kyoto.

オーナーさんが優しかったです！ 旅のおすすめスポットや道を分かりやすく教えてくれ、手書きのマップなども作ってくださっていました！ キッチンの設備や暖房などが充実していて、和風なお部屋ということもあり、すごくゆったりと充実した時間が過ごせました🥺💗 近くにも色々な観光スポットがあるので、京都の観光がとても彩られます✨

2階に続く階段がある扉を開いた時に階段の側板が少し飛び出ており、下をちゃんと見ずに足を踏み出すと左足の小指をぶつける可能性があります！ 私の不注意があり2回ぶつけちゃいました😂 一緒に行った友達はぶつけることもなく、気になる要素でもなかったらしいので、問題なしです！ ですが、その点が気にならないくらい素敵な宿でした🥰

If you are tall you just need to be careful. I am 6'1 and clumsy so I hit my head a couple of times.

Natsuki was a great host, made sure we were comfortable and helped us get settled in. She also recommended us to a great kaiseki meal that was one of the highlights of our trip. The property is well stocked, clean, and gorgeous, with a great location. 10/10!

The location is superb and the townhouse is very clean and has everything we need. The host Natsuki San is super helpful. We loved our time in Kyoto and we would definitely come back.

Brilliant location in Higashiyama walking distance to many highlights such as Kiyamizu dera, Yasaka shrine, pagoda and walk across street to head into Gion. We loved staying in a beautiful Japanese home and won’t hesitate to book again. Host met us to give us a nice folder of information and a door code. Handy washing machine/ dryer combo. The home is immaculate and beautifully designed with the cutest pocket garden. The tatami room was much appreciated to hang out in by the family. We loved being able to cook up meals and eating in the kitchen.

Nothing really. Only caveat I would say is if you are super tall- over 6 ft you should watch your head in the upstairs bedroom. The taller ones in our family used the tatami mat room with Japanese futons and that was great’
