My father had the best time of his life! The cottage upfront overlooking the ocean had amazing views wonderful sunsets friendly people with easy access to the ocean and a delightful pool to swim in

Booked weeks in advance only to be informed by Agoda few days before going to the island that this resort is unable to accommodate us. Quite disapppointed as I actually tried to ignore the comments before me to give them a chance. Don't even think about trying as I think you will also be disappointed.

THE WORST ACCOMMODATION EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE – DO NOT BOOK THIS RESORT (A TERM USED VERY LOOSELY -ACTUALLY AND OUT DATED, OVERPRICED DUMP, WITH FRAUDULENT, SCAMMING MANAGEMENT) From the moment we arrived to Siquijor Eastern Garan Waterfront Resort, things did not live up to any level of (even the lowest level) of reasonable expectations. The poorly built and maintained bungalow was lacking key components of the facilities shown on the listing. There was no bathtub in the bathroom (which was filthy with soap scum, mould and patchy repairs) as listed. The toilet had not been cleaned prior to our arrival and there was splattered blood on the top of the toilet seat and toilet bowl. The tapware in the bathroom looks like is has never been cleaned. There was a hot water unit for the shower from which water trickled, good luck having a shower there. Not to be outdone the fridge was mouldy and there were absolutely no amenities in the room. I have never stayed in any hotel that didn’t have tea/coffee making, no bathroom amenity pack, nothing! The furnishings looked reasonable except for broken handles on the drawers and the deep buttoned headboard buttons were rusty and the upholstery dirty. The sliding door to the external deck where the private tub was, was off its tracks and inoperable but one of the girls fixed that the best she could. We were prepared to concede that the bathroom bath may not have been needed given the private tub on the deck. To our surprise (NOT) the tub could not be filled above about 200mm because the water leaked out. Having approached The Front Desk attended by Arlene F. Lantaca (who is the Registered Proprietor for the Mayors Business Licence and the BIR) we were fobbed off by her saying that the Owner was Chinese and was not at the Premises but that they would address the issues prior to our check out. This never happened. We were also advised by other staff that a Chinese Gentleman (for want of a better description) who was in regular attendance at the premises was in fact the Owner. Clearly he did not want to address any issues. The business practices of this “Resort” are unprofessional, fraudulent and borders on being professional scammers. They have a practice of accepting booking and reselling at a higher price (especially in peak time) and then cancelling the earlier booking at the last minute. The Police were called in by two family groups (on two separate days) who were subjected to last minute ‘cancelled by the property’. The property is in general poor condition, even the swimming pool has slimy walls, floors and steps. Sheep are used to keep the grass under control so avoid stepping on their ‘sheep droppings’ on the grassed areas. IF I COULD GIVE THIS PROPERTY A NEGATIVE STAR RATING IT WOULD STILL BE TOO HIGH FOR IT. DON’T BOOK THIS PROPERTY OR STAY THERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

The resort was not good as I saw online. Pool was dirty and a lot of algae. Room was dirty and uncleaned, smell stinky. On our 4 nights stayed no one clean the room. Blanket was small and suite only for one person. Shower and toilet was not good. Breakfast was unacceptable.

So disappointed. Old room . Facilities old and not maintained. They write free shuttle pick up, but than they charge you at the check out . Dive shop with staff super bad. No competent at all. No safety follow and no idea what to do underwater. Don’t go here. Even if you complain, they just don’t bother .

Hotel really bad, room with a lot of problem room old, dirty nobody clean, the lavatory wash lose water on the floor, the door and window you can’t close properly so there is insect inside the room. The breakfast it’s ok if you don’t eat for 1 week so you have really hungry if not it’s terrible and really sad. Best thing it’s the diving center...best in the world... they charge a lot for a no service...don’t have boat the dive that we make we spend more than 1h for rich the place with the van, we walk on the coral and of course nobody say to us that we need the boots, the guide don’t have a computer and didn’t know nothing about scuba diving at one point I’m guide the dive (I’m a instructor) he stay behind me... They forgot even the briefing and the equipment for snorkeling...totally disaster Really don’t waste your time and keep safe your life... DON’T USE

We stayed at this hotel from 28 December 2019 until 2 January 2020. According to the pictures this hotel was just what we were looking for but we were about to be really disapointed!! During our stay we had so many frustrations: - Water in the shower was cold and wasnt allways working - Toilet couldent flush half of the times - We waited 1 hour every morning after we ordered our breakfast, which was also poor really Quality. - There were used service everywhere in the pool area, it was clear that no one bothered to clean up. - We didnt get new towels and had to ask for it everyday. Sometimes they didnt have any clean ones. We didnt get any towels even though we had our room cleaned. Which we also have to ask for. - Power went out on regular basis. - The hotel is in overall bad shape. - Big groups of local Philippines (20 or more) would come and use the pool area and pool for a half day picnic. Being really noisy and not taking into consideration that there were paying guest. - One should be 18 years to be and stay at the hotel but that wasnt honored. We tried to talk to the management about all the above, but they had so many bad explenations and seemed like they didnt care. We even told them that we would make this review, no reaction. We would never recommend this place to anyone!!! Gave us the worst start on our vacation.

I was drawn to this resort because of the photos but I was disappointed. We were upgraded to a better room near the reception area when I complained about the room too far off (without visible security) and the windows not well insulated from the heat. The upgrade was definitely better but the bathroom's floor slope prevented the proper drainage of the shower water. The hotel offers only two fixed breakfast sets: western and eastern (too expensive). It also does not have a functioning restaurant so one has to hire a tricycle to go to the town proper for meals (200 to 300 round trip depending on the distance). Cellphone signal is weak but WiFi is alright. The local staff was very accommodating. But the owner seemed to prefer a certain ethnicity and did not even bother to greet us when we arrived. The hotel's finishes are not done well so there are windows that do not open, doors which are difficult to open, etc. Maintenance is lacking as the grounds are filled with weeds. I regretted choosing this hotel to stay in this wonderful island.
