Nordurey Apartments

The flat is a lovely size, clean, with plenty of parking outside. The road is quiet so you won't be disturbed.

We stayed in the downstairs/basement one-bedroom flat. The shower reeks of eggs. We emailed the owner who said there was nothing that could be done as it is naturally heated and contains sulfur. As it is a small flat, it makes the whole place really smelly. The breakfast next door is fine if you just want something simple, but the hot food looked pretty grim.

Apartment smelled like a sewer when water in shower was turned on. Absolutely horrible. Nice location but doesnt make up for bad smell.

Good size apartment separated rooms so you don't bother each other. Good value.

Top location with everything really close by. At the same time very quiet and with free parking.

The location was very useful for heading out of Reykjavik for sightseeing and very convenient for heading into town for excursions, shopping and dining. There were grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance. Very centrally located! The breakfasts were a perfect way to start the day.

Wi-fi didn't work for two days, but was eventually fixed. The windows had air coming through them which caused the curtains to bang against them. The instruction sheet in the living room could be a bit more detailed for non-Europeans so they can find everything. There were two radiators (heaters) that did not seem to be working.

Breakfast at Nurdurey Hotel was conveniently located and nice- a reasonable selection of foods.

There was no cutlery in the apartment, I looked all over the kitchen and didn't see any. We had to grab a few spoons and forks from the Nordurey Hotel.

The range of breakfast things was ok. Nice to have proper toasters & proper milk.

My apartment was down some steps which were heavily iced with no railings. I would not have booked a basement apartment. To me ground floor means at ground level with no steps. Somebody should have cleared the thick ice off the steps & a hand rail should be provided as it was very unsafe on arrival with two suitcases & a small child. The doorway thresholds were very high, these were real trip hazards especially with a child. I would estimate that they were at least 3 inches high, I’ve never seen anything like them before!

Clean and tidy. Great little apartment with all facilities.

A microwave would have been useful. Getting into the main hotel building for breakfast was a pain as the code didn’t work. We had to knock on the window of the kitchen for staff to let us in!
