Little Gem Hotel Tulum La Veleta

The room itself is worth the money. However, the location is super terrible. You can find an electric wire hanging halfway in front of the door. The location is far away from the main street so it's very expensive to take a cab. The taxi driver cursed every time for the terrible road condition and obviously we were not happy listening to complaints as well. If you want to save money, consider the potential cost taking cab too. It's gonna be $20 - $50 for each one way trip wherever you go.

I must say this hotel was a pleasant surprise!! It is definitely a place to go if you just want to unwind, reset and relax. The staff is extremely accommodating. They made sure that our every need was met. They offered services such as calling for a cab, Ordering breakfast, Readily having scooters and bikes available. The room was clean and smelled extremely fresh. All of the amenities are new. They checked in daily to make sure that all of our needs were being meet. All of the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The setup is like an airbnb, except you have the option for hotel amenities and services. I will absolutely book here again!! The ambiance is very boho, and relaxing at night. It's a beautiful sight!!

The staff at the property were amazing! Romina gave me a ride into town one day and Brenda was also really helpful. They are both amazing women. The hotel itself is so darn cute! They have cute rooms with Edison lights and the pool is great. The road is really pot holey so be prepared for that. My taxi driver called them Tulum cenotes when it rains. It is a little far from town but they have restaurants and shops around there. It's a great place to stay I'd you want quiet. I will definitely book it again if I go back to Tulum!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Gem. The road getting to it isn't the best with lots of potholes and limited lighting but the reward of the hotel makes up for this. The rooms very clean and we never felt unsafe at this place. The staff was always willing to help and offer suggestions and advice for places to go and things to see. We could come back in a heartbeat.

Enjoyed our stay at Little Gem! This place is phenomenal. Nice quite hotel near Tulum Center, restaurants and a smoothie stand! The rooms are very clean, spacious and you get your own balcony. This is truly a gem of a small boutique hotel and this was our second of I’m sure many visits to this property. It’s the design, the pool and most importantly the staff who make this our home away from home in Tulum. We came in November for our anniversary and birthdays and again the trip we returned to Tulum because of this hotel and staff. They recommend the best of the best in Tulum and have a wide variety of knowledge of the area and are food and experience lovers themselves so they know where to send you and can call ahead for any tips of the moment for guests. Stay here, it’s a dream of a hotel and with only 9 rooms, you have their utmost attention!

Beautiful new boutique hotel in Tulum. Super helpful management. Only 9 rooms in total, so very private. Loved the indoor/ outdoor lobby/ courtyard/ pool space. Little cafe opposite was great for breakfast before going to the ruins too.

The Hotel is outstanding. I loved my stay there and will try to book again when I have the chance next time.

The hotel is new, very clean, located on a quiet street. The rooms are good size and there is a balcony. The personnel was very kind and helpful. Use of bicycles was included in the price. Alex Walus

Nice quiet stay near Tulum center. The room was very clean and spare. A large comfy bed and complimentary Nespresso espresso pods and cookies and waters. This small hotel is located in a quiet section off the main Avenida. The side roads are rough and bumpy and get filled with large pools of water during rain. It’s also about a 15-20 min taxi ride to the very busy beach strip. Tulum is rather pricey - meals and regular things to buy. It doesn’t have the mega sprawling resorts of Cancun and Ixtapa, thank goodness, but is undergoing what feels like hyper frenzied development. The hotel is in a quiet area known as La Veleta. The staff that we encountered - Nestor and Enrique - were terrific and very helpful.
