The Evenlode Rooms at Firehouse Oxford

Staff, room was nice

Constant intermittent loud noises from the room below room 7 throughout the entire night. Sounded like an electric drill drilling into a brick wall at one point. I was woken up at 12.30am and was kept awake all night. Plus there was a bright light, like the light from a phone torch, flashing from the smoke detector every 20 seconds throughout the night. Plus there was an awful sewer smell in the bathroom. Not a good stay at all. If I had brought ear plugs, an eye mask and an air freshener I may have had a better stay. Refund would be appreciated.

Load music at night which I wasn’t expecting

Rooms were nice with comfortable beds, good shower and brewing facilities. Had a great meal in the hotel restaurant The Firehouse in the evening too. Perfect for our one night stay.

Only slight issue was that there was nowhere to hang clothes. There was a clothes rail but no hangers. Not a big deal for our one night stay but may be an issue for others.

Location was good for Oxford

Original room was unavailable and so got downgraded to a room where the heating was on full bore and couldn't be changed. I left at 9pm and didn't stay as it was so unbearably hot.
