The front desk staff is horrible… slow and rude

I liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. In particular, the man who checked us in found a room that was ready, so we could check in a little earlier than normal. I liked how clean the room was, how it was appointed and that there was a gym in which to exercise.

The breakfast was super expensive. I believe that when I booked the room there was mention of a fixed price breakfast for $10, but there was not sign of that so we ended up paying $50 for what would have cost $25 off premises. Also, when the bill came, it included a charge and taxes for parking, but we did not have a car. I asked for it to be removed and was told it would be, but I never got any written confirmation.

Toilet backed up. Room was too expensive for what we received.

The location is perfect.

The room key always didn’t work. During our stay for the 10 days, we have come across at least 10 times the room key didn’t work, which is quite inconvenient. Some front desk staff are friendly. Some are very cool. Don’t know if it’s their style.

Very dated bathroom. Good service. Clean.

I have stayed here a number of times and have enjoyed our stay each and every time! The proximity to wonderful restaurants and the campus all…within walking distance truly makes this a perfect spot. Laquanda greeted us at the front desk welcoming us with such a beautiful smile! She made us feel immediately at home! My daughter and I were in Charlottesville to visit the wineries and participated in C’ville hop on hop off bus tour which literally picked us up right across the street. For a fun girls weekend I would absolutely recommend this hotel!

Hotel needs repairs and upkeep. My towel rack fell off the wall when I touched it. The closet folding door hinges were loose and the screws may have been stripped. The drawers were off kilter and didn't close easily. The carpet was dirty. There was rarely any sugar in the coffee area. The Bistro was so poorly lit that I didn't realize it was open until the end of my long stay. When I realized it was open at times, I started getting breakfast there and it was wonderful. Great eggs, crispy bacon and potatoes. Staff was very kind and helpful.

The security is wonderful!

The bed was a little old and worn.
