Room is clean. Staff responsive and willing to assist. There are many shops and eateries available within the vicinity. You can also make purchases in the hotel lobby.

My second stay here this year. Front desk staff is wonderful and lobby area is very attractive. I graduated from the University 43 years ago and this is such a fantastic location to be able to walk everywhere on The Grounds. Have walked to the football stadium, the Rotunda (day and night), Rugby Road and of course The Corner is steps away. This is location, location, location....which is worth a lot to me. Hassle-free on-site parking for $10/day is fantastic. Directly next door is Farm Bell Kitchen, a great place for breakfast. Both stays have been easy peasy and the location is so central to the Downtown Mall (short Uber or drive) and everything else University-related, it is a Marriott win. PERFECT place for those coming to look at the University or alums back visiting....or those using the Medical Center.

Almost $950 for a Friday and Saturday night stay and that did not include the $10 daily parking fee. The coffeemaker in our room was filthy and no complimentary coffee is offered in the lobby.

The rooms are severely outdated with the loud air conditioner that keeps you awake all night long. Bathrooms look like they haven’t been updated since the 1980s. They put bigger tvs and a modern couch/futon in the room but that doesn’t make up for the old tired carpet and the bathrooms that are aged. The worst part was the mattress which needed replaced in 520. The parking garage is also small and hard to maneuver if you have a bigger car. All in all, I would not recommend this place. We stayed on a points stay so all we paid was $10 for parking, but the room wasn’t worth more than $80/night like a cheap roadside motet lodge.

We usually stay at the Hampton inn and love it, but it was booked this time so we stayed at the Marriott instead and it was a terrible mistake. It is extremely overpriced for what you get. I would never stay here again. The staff, while not rude, were very unfriendly and uninterested in helping at all, expect nothing more than the very bare minimum. Not only is it overpriced but it has almost no amenities. Expect a very small TV, the kind you would expect to find in a cheap roadside motel, and there isn’t a complimentary breakfast despite other nicer and more affordable hotels offering it. They do offer an over priced breakfast if you want but I would recommend going anywhere close by downtown. The Hampton inn’s free breakfast was much nicer than the paid one here. The ice machines appear to mostly be broken. The one on the second floor was broken and while I was trying to get ice a man came down from the third floor hoping for ice there. When I called to ask the front desk if they had any ice machines that weren’t broken I was told she thought the ice machine on the first floor worked but she wasn’t sure. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable enough. It wasn’t terrible, just terrible value.

I have stayed at this hotel many times but the last 2 visits (both in summer 2025) have been terrible. This hotel is not only overdue for a remodel, the management clearly is not keeping it up to what I consider Marriott standards. Here is my quick list of what I was disappointed with: Sinks/tub do not drain, Sink drips continuously, Mold on bathroom ceiling, Peeling wallpaper in hall, In room AC not good - cuts off at random times, does not keep temp, No internet to the tv although there is a Netflix option offered, and tv channel guide was 2.5 days out of sync, Bath products almost empty and cut with water - shampoo and conditioner were not usable, Bath towels low quality and mismatched. My last visit there were fresh blood stains on the carpet. Front desk understaffed and does not answer phones. This place is in a great location (only reason it is getting 2 stars) but has the vibe of a crappy roadside motel. Not an expensively priced Marriott property.
