Fairmont Banff Springs

They don’t treat everyone the same here. I was given a terrible room with a view of tarp and construction material and when I asked they told me “looks like you booked with a 3rd party” Fairmont gold people get treated very well. The elevator was covered with rags and lots of construction equipment everywhere in the building the gave us. Rooms are average and building really old. But boy what a beautiful city and area otherwise. Hotel restaurants were fully booked most nights but lots of good food available in the city.

We were in a building that was under construction. Our room had views of dumpsters and materials. It was such a bummer. It was not worth the money.

Very nice spot but very expensive, very overpriced.

The only downside is that the bathroom in the room is small; otherwise, everything is perfect.

James at the front desk was amazing! He helped us secure an extra room when we needed one at the last minute. Thank you James!!

Truthfully, this hotel is more impressive from the outside than it is from the inside. It is really outdated and even though the room seemed remodeled within the last 5 years, it still felt dirty and old. The bathroom was laughably small with no more than 2 inches between the tub and the toilet. My towel hit the toilet bowl and I felt so disgusted I had to use a new one. I understand the rooms are small but for $1,200, the only redeeming quality was the proximity to Bow Falls which we visited twice during our two night stay. Also, I'm not sure why the hotel did not offer us any drinking water. I understand that plastic bottles are not environmentally friendly but at least aluminum or refillable filtered drinking water. Instead, we waited 10-15 minutes at the grab and go cafe downstairs for overpriced water in glass bottles. There was no other option available and the concierge pointed us to the market across the street if we wanted another option. I didn't even see a water dispenser with fruit infused water. Nothing. I was extremely disappointed about this. I'm used to valet handing us cold bottles of water for our day trips when staying at other fine hotels and resorts. If you do decide to stay here, make sure you load up on water at the market or convenience store in town first. Otherwise, I would recommend skipping this hotel in Banff and staying at Chateau Fairmont Lake Louise. The water situation is still the same but at least the tiny rooms were clean and luxurious.

Offered us two small rooms in side building though we paid for a larger 4 adults room. Some of the staff was great rest of them kept forgetting orders. Many areas were not clean at all. One of us stuck on the bathroom for good amount of time as the door was jammed. Very Average experience

Staff was nice, helpful. But for us there was no shopping or dining other than the hotels. I guess you get what you pay for. There were 3 windows in this room. The one with the best was in the bathroom. And you had to be sitting on the toilet to see the window. The other window from our bed looked at a wall, 4-5' away. Bathroom, shower, bed were nice, not something we're going to remember about.
