Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello

Nous avons particulièrement aimé l'architecture, les multiples services, la qualité d'accueil du personnel et le restaurant. La literie et les affaires de bains étaient un gros plus. Nous ne sommes mallheureusement arrêté qu'une seule nuit. Nous y reviendrons pour sûr!

Le service est très lent au restaurant et au bar. Il devrait y avoir plus de possibilités pour dîner ou souper à l’extérieur l’été.

I attended the Sunday brunch on May 3rd, 2026, and unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing experience—one that management should be aware of but doesn’t appear to be. The buffet area is far too small to accommodate the number of guests. There was a long, winding line just to access basic items like scrambled eggs and beans, and the serving dishes themselves were undersized for the volume of guests. The bacon and breakfast sausages were of very poor quality (as was pretty much everything) comparable to what you might find at a low-end diner. The prime rib station was almost comical; the staff member was carving from a piece of meat no larger than a fist. The smoked salmon was difficult to find and presented on a plate far too small for a buffet of this scale. When I got to my table my food was cold. On my second visit to the buffet, I realized why—the warming trays were not functioning. They were either turned off or simply not working, as they were cool to the touch. This points to a serious lapse in oversight, whether due to absent management or a lack of attention to basic service standards. More broadly, the poor food service reflects the overall state of the property. The building appears neglected, with peeling paint, deteriorating walkways, etc. The ownership and the Fairmount group have allowed the property to decline significantly. At $85 per person, plus tax, this experience falls far below any reasonable expectation. I would strongly advise against brunch at this establishment.

The rooms were very dated and not up to what I would expect at a Fairmont hotel. The bathroom was extremely small and the sink plug didn’t work as one example. The temperature control was turned off due to the season so no heat or cooling in the room. On our second morning the coffee machine was broken so there was no coffee available. The were some issues with the drinking water as well and we were advised to get our drinking water from water stations set out in the lobby which was a bit concerning as well had a baby with us. The furniture in the common areas was very dated, not very clean or comfortable. Also, there were pesky houseflies in the dining area, especially at breakfast. The cafe has very limited hours so if you need a cold bottled drink or some other necessity you had to drive into town. We had a nice stay however, not nearly up to the Fairmont level of excellence I’m used to.

L'entrée pour la voiture mal indiquée Le style un peu ancien de la chambre. Le chauffage trop bruyant, on le fermait pour dormir. La salle de bain que l'on ne peut barrer J'avais indiqué 4 adultes et une enfant de 4 ans. Pas de lit pour l'enfant, reçu mais pas ouvert et installé. Pas de robe de chambre pour elle, on l'indique et nous en recevons 3 juste à notre départ.. Deux tasses, peu de capsules pour le café, saccharine, reçues la deuxième journée. Papier de toilette demandé (5), on a teçu du papier de toilette d'urgence. Manque de serviettes et débarbouilles. Puis on reçoit 5 essuie-mains... Beaucoup de personnel. Au déjeuner, 4 employés discutent ensemble derrière la table de service: une même personne, dame à lunettes, parle en sacrant d'une autre personne à qui elle ne parle plus et indique que cette personne la fait chier. Je suis assise avec une petite de 4 ans. Je me suis dit pas possible je devrais lui dire de faire attention. Mais, il y a deux dames à lunettes... Je ne savais plus laquelle avertir.
