Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac

The already very expensive rooms had very bad views - it said courtyard view but looked right into brick wall. I had to pay $400 more to get a view. The guests that we had invited kept the very bad view room - looked directly into a brick wall! I was very embarassed as I had booked the rooms and told them how beautiful it was and it was worth the price.

Very poor value for the price. Room and bathroom are small. The one chair and lounger were both uncomfortable for sitting more than a few minutes. There are no frigs in the rooms so I removed five hotel beverages from the mini bar to store my own personal items and medication and replaced the hotel beverages unused in the mini bar when I left. However, there is now a $400 charge on my Visa for these items (the staff assured me at checkout the charge will be removed). I have stayed in much nicer accommodations in Old Quebec City and elsewhere for a fraction of the price. I thought this splurge would be worth the premium rate but I am disappointed with the experience.

From the moment you walk in the golden accented revolving front doors, you can feel the classiness of this place. It’s was a short shuttle ride to the hotel. The bus boys/attendants were unloading our luggage before we even stepped off of the shuttle. We checked in and headed up to our room. Our luggage was already in our room. Our room is huge #5177. It has two different seating areas plus a desk, a wet bar & coffee/tea station & a big shower. There are two different windows that open with a stunning view. It is located just steps away from lots of restaurants and shops. The “Moment Spa” located in the hotel is top notch. I got the absolute best massage I have ever received, ask for Jordan. I also had a top notch facial, ask for Nicola. They have a robe and slippers in your room to wear to the spa. The room service here is also amazing. I called to order and the lady answered the phone and said “hello Mrs. Little” I thought I had accidentally called the front desk. I only have 2 complaints, they need bigger tv’s. The tv is so far across the room that I literally cannot read the guide. I have to get up out of the bed and walk up to the tv to read it. The 2nd complaint is that they don’t have very many tv options in English and I couldn’t find a way to login to any of the streaming services I subscribe to. I do realize that you aren’t supposed to be spending that much time in your room, but that’s how I relax. With all of that being said, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you stay here. You will not be disappointed.
