Novotel Geelong

Right on the waterfront and close to where we needed to be. Bed was super comfy. Spacious.

Air conditioner didn’t work. Room was hot. Had to open up the doors (luckily it’s winter) to cool the room. Staff quickly grabbed us a fan to help. Room is pretty tired and worn. Hotel told us about construction the day before, and we were in the closest room to the construction.

location was perfectly situated; rooms were clean and tidy. breakfast was expensive for a buffet that had limited food but the menu breakfast was better priced and offered a good selection of food

Throughout the night on our 1st stay, the fire alarms went off 3 times during the early hours waking the whole hotel up. all of them were faults leaving everyone exhausted. There was no apologies or complementary Coffee offered as an apology. building work outside was a large-scale building operation that started at 7.00am and continued all day that we weren't aware of until a day before travel so we couldn't book alternative accommodation.

The location was very convenient and the staff were amazing!

My check in experience was the worst I had encountered. She was abrupt and reluctant to check us in. We were 12 minutes early to standard check in time. She told me that I could not proceed with check in until 3pm as our room was not ready, made us wait in foyer. She also wanted to wait to valet park our vehicle until I told her I had booked this during my pre checkin. Did not offer to take our bags so we could leave and come back or take my credit card or licence details. People beside us were offered all of these details, checking in at the same time with other staff that were much more accommodating. We would have understood if room was not ready, but to make us re line up to checkin at 3pm seemed unnecessary. When I gave feedback to the staff member about our frustration he brushed it off and said check in starts at 3pm. Were were notified of work being done at hotel after I booked room, and told work would begin between 8am and 5pm. Painting outside our room and work noise began at 7am.

It was clean it was, the staff was lovely. It was local and close to everything..

I found the cost of the property was a little bit expensive. I was hoping that it was gonna be a kitchenette my bad that I didn’t read it correctly.
