"Very disorganized!"

4.0

This hotel doesn’t seem to know what it’s doing. I checked in & was resting in the room, but I couldn’t rest because people kept on banging on the door to clean the room that I had just checked into. WiFi is spotty in the rooms. The restaurant had no a/c on at dinner, & they were reluctant to turn it on. The staff seemed to do everything in their own way. Two people took my order while I waited in the lobby for the a/c to cool the restaurant. I returned about 20 mins later, & another person, who was standing next to the guy I gave my order to, asked for my order. Why don’t they talk to each other? Why didn’t it occur to anyone that many clients prefer air conditioning to sitting in a stuffy, hot room??? The location is great, but they have a lot of work to do to make this a welcoming & pleasant place to stay.

"Good location, 1 rude employee, wifi bad, rest OK"

4.0

The breakfast staff was OK--not overly friendly, but efficient. Most of the front desk staff was nice. Wow, the girl who did my check in and check out was unfriendly at all times. She acted like I was a nuisance for showing up to check in/check out during her shift. She never said hello when I said hello first, so I just stopped talking to her after a while. The wifi is quite bad at all times. Location is central, which is good. Breakfast is quite good but not amazing. Rooms are clean and features work. Locks on the door are a bit tricky sometimes.

"Fresh from the tundra..."

After a number of days working with a local mission, the comfort I enjoyed was a welcome change. I am grateful that my wonderful husband found these accommodations for me, and I appreciate all of the help I received in your hotel.

"Friendly staff and clean rooms"

10.0

Its a good hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms. Choose rooms to the front and above 2nd floor. Avoid the rooms to the side w/o windows. The hotel is very central in Bissau. There is a free airport transfer available.

"Good location, expensive and not great"

6.0

We got for the start wrong rooms. Aircon didn't work, and room was bit dirty + only 1 towel for 2 people. They mostly don't talk english like website tells. Paying was easy with € as well. Location was good and they had free airport pickup. Not a cheap place either

"A Truly Awful Experience, Trapped In Bissau (Long)"

2.0

Airport pickup was fine. Arrived at hotel, where staff speaks Portuguese and French. I was initially assigned a room, but key card did not open the door. Instead of reprogramming the key card, I was assigned me to a different room with a key lock.I locked door with key from inside, but when tried to leave, lock mechanism actually fell out of door, trapping me in room. I called down to the front desk, and eventually, someone was able to understand I was trapped and send someone who had difficulty in opening my door, but told me that the actual lock could not fixed until next day. Thus, I had to sleep in room with no lock. After having to leave my room unlocked while I ate breakfast, I inquired about fixing the lock again and the lock was replaced. Later that evenning, when returning from dinner at an outside restaurant, my key did not open my door and everything I had brought on the trip was locked inside. Hotel staff were unable to open the door or reach their maintenance person who fixed locks. While the front desk was trying to reach him again, I was somehow able to reopen the lock. I quickly packed everything I had (but unfortunately left a hat that was not returned to me), and as I was leaving the room, the Manager, came to my room, apologized, and stated that he would get me a new and better room and buy me dinner. I thanked him, told him that I had just eaten, but really just wanted to get moved to a room that I could lock or unlock, whether I was inside or out. He agreed to buy me dinner the following night. In the new room, which was identical to my previous room, except the air conditioning did not work as well as the unit in the original room, and the room did not have ANY water to the sink, toilet, or shower without intervention by maintenance, The next morning, I saw the manager, and he again stated that he was buying me dinner that evening. I ate at the restaurant which was good, ordering the cheapest special of the day (a chicken breast with rice), and a bottle of water. I left a cash tip for the waiter at the restaurant. When I went to check out the next morning, the front desk had no information about the "agreement" of the manager, and I paid for my dinner so I could leave the hotel as the manager was not available. . FYI, as a safety issue, a key card is required to return to the lobby which could be dangerous in an emergency. Room was small, but of adequate size. AC worked well, although I had to use my own batteries in AC remote. No in room wi fi, it was available in the lobby only. Both rooms had a balcony overlooking presidential palace. Bathroom was larger, with wasted space, and a shower enclosure that was smaller than showers found on cruise ships. Breakfast: “Hot” items were not hot. Limited selection. However, excellent breads and pastries As you can tell from my review, I had a truly awful hotel experience and would not recommend this hotel.

"Good location"

8.0

in the very centre of Bissau, with walking distances all around. Lacking a pool however. The breakfast is OK, but nothing to write home about. Be early as some of the food might be finished. Have stayed 3 nights in all and paid 51,000 XFA

"The best hotel in town"

10.0

spent about 3 months there and it was just perfect. friendly staff, located right in the center of the city across the presidential palace, the restaurant at the top floor is really good( the chef is from Portugal ), the bar at the lobby makes you feel like home after a long day of work. clean rooms. the right place to stay for work or pleasure. They offer transportation from and to the airport.

"Plastic Comfort in a good location"

4.0

While this hotel might be labeled as a mid-range luxury in this range, it barely would qualify for that status anywhere. But for the price you pay it is a great value for money and brings in enough comfort in this neighborhood. It is more of a Business traveller accommodation and meant for transit and short term stays. One thing that bothered me a lot was the lack of any kind of Window or view into the external spaces in most part of the building which makes you feel like you are a cage! LOCATION: Located in a great location near the presidential palace and close to some good points of interest DINE + DRINK: The Lobby ‘Bar’ is a nice area to lounge and chill with a cold one at the end of the day or before heading out for a dinner in town. The Restaurant on site is OK and breakfast offered is nothing great to write about ROOM: I stayed in 308, so this review is based on that; VIEW:Nothing and you will feel like you are in a dark den ; SIZE: Reasonably spacious room; AIR-CON: Old, but Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Poor quality cosmetics, Bring your own! FACILITIES:Be prepared to get into a pure African chill-out mode! No gym or Pool on site SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all my needs with a smile, especially the front desk guy who checked us in very late in the night and Kept the lobby bar open for us as long as we wanted to stay up! HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all in and around the reception. Plasma TV screen dishing out limited number of channels
