The vistas, the gardens, the food was exceptional! Gamboa, a rainforest, a historic establishment, at the confluence of the Chagres River and the Panama Canal, inside Soberanía National Park, a gem! Early morning, explore the Panamanian rainforest from the aerial tramway, climb a 10-story observation tower, accessible to all, admire the vistas. Meet the fascinating sloths at the sanctuary, visit the vivariums filled with butterflies and tiny poisonous frogs! The air is heavy, a thunderstorm looms!

The pool was greenish, which i had been using since my arrival, it closed half of my stay, the compensation... a mojito! The grounds around the pool show there age!

The location was a dream with beautiful rainforest and lake views. Birds singing all the time. Also the room was large and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good.

On rainy days, there's not much to do, especially for young children. It would be great if there was a kids club or playroom they could use if they can't go to the pool/ nature. In general, the hotel could use some upgrades. Also, there is not much to do in the immediate location besides the rainforest, so you need to Uber/ rent a car for different food options or shopping. Ubers are not always available in the area, and taxi prices are high from there. Renting a car is probably the best option.

The scenery and views are great. You feel submerged in the jungle with the perks of a resort. The resort is definitely older and upkeep is tough in this environment, but overall it was maintained. The food, both buffets and a la carte restaurant were surprisingly good. We stayed 4 nights and the variety was just enough for that. Tours, meals and other services are on the higher $ end, but you pay for the convenience and piece of mind.

Unfortunately, during the first couple of days the resort was taken over by a large group of party people. They took over the entire pool during the day and kept up entire floors of the resorts during the night. Many of them came in unsanitary swim clothes, barely covering anything to the restaurants. Strange place to pick for "all-inclusive" drinking and partying. They even had a DJ at the pool blasting music so loud, accompanied by totally inappropriate life raps. We had to leave to protect our ears and children. We did a couple of the tours, but the canal / monkey island tours are heavily crowded with dozens of other tour operators. Not really anything they have control over, just a heads-up of what to expect.
