Best Western Brigham City Inn & Suites

I have stayed in this hotel 2 times prior to this visit and each time there was something wrong. Repairs not finished, Wi Fi crashed, no big deal, things break and happen but the staff was always polite and apologetic so I decided to stay again as I had rewards points and it was convenient. I am a Diamond tier member and have stayed in many BW hotels but this was unique. Now, I am 79 years old with health issues. As I entered, I was not welcomed, just "What's your last name?" I told the young lady that I had a hearing problem and would appreciate it if she would speak up and slower. She looked at me like I was ruining her day. OK. I checked in and she gave me the keys to my room which was quite a ways from the office. I got to the room and the keys she'd given me didn't work. Tried 4 times with both keys, NADA. So I hiked back down to the office and told her the keys didn't work and she said "yes, they do, I just programed them". I said they still didn't work and without another word she stared programming 2 more. I took them after she just dropped them on the counter and went back up to the room. They still didn't open the door after several attempts so back down to the office. I told her these didn't work either and you'd have thought I just stepped on her kitten. She said, "I'll go up and show you how to open the door!" So, back up to the room and she tried several times and guess what? They didn't open the door. She didn't say anything to me but got on her phone and texted someone and then said "I guess we'll have to give you another room." and took off for the office. After I was able to make it back to the office she threw me another set of keys for another room. I went back up to that room and the keys opened the door. Now, after all of the problems with the other room and her attitude I thought I'd better check and make sure I could secure the room but when I tried closing the door, the locking mechanism would allow me to completely close the door. Back down to the office and I told her I was having a problem with closing the door and she looked at me like I was and idiot. Maybe I am. After she was able , she took me back up to the room and showed me that you had to use the key to unlock the mechanism to allow the door to close and lock. I have used the same type of lock in many hotels and never had to do this. During the entire exchange, this young lady spoke very minimally, never apologized for the inconvenience and when I tried to talk to her, she just walked away without a word. I feel that she was inconsiderate and rude and needs to find someplace to work where she doesn't have to interact with people......but that's just me. If you're going through Brigham City, Utah, I would recommend you pass this one by as I will in the future;

Not much

The room and hall smelled like cat pee. The shower curtain rod was broke and hanging down. The people upstairs were stomping until after midnight. The pillows were the size of throw pillows and the one blanket on the bed was very very thin.

Shower did not look clean. Tub looked dirty.

After spending over $10 at another restaurant on items for breakfast in the room an then placing it in the fridge overnight, we learned in the morning that the fridge was not working properly and did not chill the items placed inside the night before. Very dissappointing. When we explained the situation to the young lady at the desk at checkout in the morning, she thanked me for reporting the problem so it could be fixed. But she failed to recognize that, to us,real problem was that the non functioning fridge cost us us over $10 and caused the inconvenience of having to find replacement foos dood that my daughter could eat, thus delaying our hoped for early start.

My husband has a bad back and didn't sleep well.

Breakfast was better than usual for a hotel. The building was obviously newer, thus nicer. Overall, it was a descent place, but situated too close to noisy roads. Two of the staff were great, but one was on the weird side -- not personable or very friendly. The room was rather nice, and being in the back north side likely made it quieter; double-paned windows should have been put in to dampen outside noise.

The idiots who designed and built the building didn't get it; the second floor had super low windows and inadequate privacy per lack of solid curtain or shutters; the see-through shade could not be moved up at all, so while there was some potential view of trees and mountains, it was not possible to see anything except the ugly parking lot or someone looking up into your room because of the low windows. Compared to other Utah towns I stayed in, the room cost was on the steep side for hotels, with only about three hotels in town.

The staff was friendly.

The room was dirty. The floor had hair all over it. There was a dirty towel hanging in the bathroom and the tub was not clean.
