"Very nice, another 10% more would make it awesome."

8.0

When we checked in the receptionist did not speak english and when I asked her to speak slowly so that I could understand her (my spanish is ok, but not good) she continued speaking at a very fast pace. I think we were told that we couldn't check in because we were too early (it was 3:10) and checkin wasn't until 3pm. She took us to the restaurant where we grabbed a snack and then returned to the office. At that point we were checked in and shown our room. At no point were we oriented to the property, this mystified us over the next 3 days as we wandered around trying to figure out where things were. It took us until day 3 to find the gym that was located in the Spa. I fully get that not speaking great Spanish in Mexico is on me. That being said, I have traveled in Mexico a lot and never had such an experience where someone seemed truly disinclined to work with me to understand. A few other notes: 1. Private beach was incredible. Shaded palapas, beach bar, just big enough to go for a walk, really nice. 2. We didn't learn this until we were leaving, but the normal restaurant was close due to lightning damage, the substitute restaurant was the yoga room. We didn't know this and thought we were just in the restaurant and it was really weird. We learned this from other guests. 3. The bathroom in our room needs some love. Corroded shower head, bath spigot coming off the wall, etc... 4. The staff (aside from reception) were absolutely lovely.

"Amazing property"

10.0

Just got home from a yoga retreat at Punta Serena and it was fantastic. The property manager Angelo was so very kind and helpful, all the staff for that matter were hard working and very pleasant. The rooms were beautiful and the food was amazing. I loved every minute and hated to leave. I would highly recommend Punta Serena for a relaxing and peaceful get away as there was no annoying loud music and beings it's for people 21 and over, there weren't any screaming kids and dirty pool areas. I would def go back

"Secluded and Romantic "

8.0

My wife and I went back for our second January visit in a row. @ 1 hour cab ride - 950 pesos out, 900 pesos back to ZLO airport. We had a great time. Really nothing had changed. We even met with several couples from last years visit. Same wonderful staff and relaxing setting. We chose a villa room this time and while it is larger and closer to the ocean, it is not that much better than a regular room which we had on 2 previous trips. If the price was right we would choose villa again but any room is fine. The fixtures are tired in all rooms, showers, patio doors etc so it is the view and space that makes the difference. The king size bed was comfort table. Lots of pillows and fresh bedding. The food was the same as last year. Same menu, few choices but well executed. Yo can eat at the sister resort next door and we did try the restaurant nearby a few times to break the monotony’s. It was pretty good. A nice change. Morning strolls on that beach with the sun rising are unforgettable. And we stopped in at the sister resort for breakfast a few times afterwards for a bit of variety. Music around the pool and restaurant was the same all the time. Either some mystical spa music or wordless saxophone versions of old hits on a loop. Even the staff complained that it was driving them “loco”. Those minor things considered we would and plan to return. You can’t beat the feeling of relaxation that you experience as soon as you arrive. We really didn’t want to leave.

"Private Paradise"

10.0

My wife and I recently returned from our annual trip to Punta Serena. Our experience was even better than before. The staff is friendly and attentive. The rooms are large and air conditioned (for us Northerners). The food and drinks are getting better each year. Lamb, beef, salmon, shrimp, sea bass, tuna, fish cocktails, etc. -- all prepared with flare and made to order. Lots of soups, salads and vegetarian options as well. The beach is a highlight. It is 1/4 mile of paradise. The only access is by walking down 110 steps to the beach from the resort. There is a fully stocked bar, restrooms and a shower on the beach. The friendly staff bring food and drinks to your chair. No vendors, gawkers or walkers of any kind. We often had the entire beach to ourselves and you can easily spend all day there. The beach is clothing optional with most guests enjoying the private beach sans clothing. It would be a great place to try a clothing optional experience the first time. Wildlife abounds -- crabs, fish, dolphins, pelicans, sandpipers, iguanas, etc. The only improvements I would suggest are improved wifi and updated bathrooms. We'll definitely be back. It is a bargain and the views, the food, the service and the beach cannot be beat.

"Great staff. Rooms need update"

8.0

Great staff. They bring food and drink even to the beach. Drinks are with lot of choice. Food is excellent but one menu for entire stay. Rooms need update in shower and tub part. We had air conditioner and its working properly. Every room has a view. Huge pool is great with amazing view, but too much chlorine. I wish they have salt water pool as many All inclusive I have attended. No kids! Very quiet and relaxing. We can go to lower hotel and beach and can get drinks there - it was convenient. Very seclude beach - truly for adults only. This is our 3d stay and we will be back. Very safe.

"Great beach tired facility"

8.0

Needs to be purchased by someone with some real big$’s to expand it make it as beautifull as the landscape is. Otherwise nice place to visit a couple times. It’s remote location keeps it real quiet during the week. Bus tours on the weekends keep it going. Menu apparently has not changed in many many years. People keep coming back for the beach.

"Week of Bliss!"

8.0

I've just returned from a week of powerbliss yoga / pilates retreat. It was one of the best things that I have ever done for myself! A vacation where you can work out and eat and drink in the most perfect setting. The resort was in a very secluded and serene part of Manzanillo with amazing bay/ beach views. Steps to the ocean. The resort had a lovely pool and jacuzzis overlooking the ocean. The resort had a great staff who were all very accommodating and friendly. There were plenty of food options and I found the food to be very good. I had an ocean front room in a shared villa which had the best view of the ocean I've ever had. Two balconies on either side of the room. It was really spectacular. The room was my own and I had my own bathroom. The other room was downstairs so I never even saw the other guest. Its not like sharing a house or anything like that. We just had a shared vestibule which was basically a huge living room. TV channels are limited of course, but who cares when you have this setting. Do not rely on streaming Netflix or anything like that. The wife is good for checking email and such, but not for streaming. So bring stuff to read. I found I spent most afternoons enjoying the view, drinking, swimming and chatting with other guests so my days flew by. Almost too fast. I recommend flying into ZLO. It's alot closer then Puerto Vallarta airport. I traveled alone and I had a great time!

Food was disappointing. Either cold or burnt. Not a lot of variety. Long wait for food that was not hot when it arrived. There was no wifi in the rooms and only coverage in part of the common areas. Limited wifi in dining area.
