Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge

We stayed in the new villas which were lovely. Beautifully decorated. Great location. Very quiet and relaxing. We ate at the lodge every night as we didn’t want to drive on roads after dark. Good choice between pub meals and fine dining.

A suggestion would be to add a microwave to the kitchenette in the new villas.

The Restaurant was able to accommodate our late arrival on our first night which we appreciated very much. On our second night we were turned away from the Restaurant as we had not booked. We did eat from the more relaxed pizza/ hamburger bar but we were disappointed as we were staying in house and there seemed to be many tables empty in the main restaurant. I would advise booking table if you are keen to eat at a certain time.

Other than the above the Mercure American River was very comfortable

La chambre qui nous a été attribuée était située au fond du jardin. Cette partie exterieure n est pas aussi bien entretenue que la partie entourant la piscine. Le soir c etait un peu effrayant car mal eclairé.

Great stay, lovely room with a beautiful bay view. The restaurant was amazing! We also really appreciated the complimentary wine, cookies, and crisps, which made our stay feel extra special. It was such a thoughtful touch and a lovely welcome after a long day of travel.

The kitchen closing at 8pm is unfortunately quite early for Kangaroo Island. Ferry services are often delayed, so guests cannot always plan their dinner time in advance. As the hotel is in a relatively rural area with limited alternative dining options, it would be helpful to have some options available for guests arriving later.

Beautiful location , unique

The luxury villa was exactly that, very luxurious. The bedding was very comfortable. The view from the balcony was wonderful. The complimentary items (even though we didn't have the wine) was a a nice touch.

The ventilation fan in the bathroom could be stronger to reduce the condensation from the shower. The meal prices in the bar lounge were a bit more expensive than what I expected.
