Hotel Baja San Diego - A Boutique Hotel

Well no one, I repeat, no one ever mentioned the terrible sewer smell in the area specially at night time, this was a special trip for my disabled kid and I almost cried when we started getting off the exit from the freeway and to the hotel, horrible smell, then we found and kill 2 roaches in the room, thank god we spend most of our time out and came back late on purpose, we booked 2 nights and no one serviced our room while we were out, I asked and they said they were short handed, any way next day at 7am we checked out, never again will come to this place hotel baja san diego.

This hotel looked way different than the pictures . Then the room wasn’t clean , has rough towels , and no shampoo or conditioners . The breakfast was a joke and disgusting. And both nights when we got back to the hotel there was zero parking . There are only 16 units and last night I counted 59 cars. We had to move the trash cans and park there . We told the front desk person but they didn’t seem to care !!

Very unique property, really felt like being in a hacienda. A lot of things in the plaza across the street. Great neighborhood street to walk the dog. A little loud with highway noise but it was terrible. Breakfast was AMAZING G

In it's heyday, this hotel was probably really something. It's a fact that the decor is opulent, although a bit outdated. There is absolutely no doubt that the staff really cares and they consistently go way above and beyond on any request. The breakfast is hearty and well presented with a lot more selections than you'll find in some of the more fancy hotels. You will not find a better hotel at this price point in San Diego. But there are tradeoffs. Through no faults of the hotel owners or staff, there is a certain aroma in the air. It's unpleasant but completely tolerable.

Stinky. Loud motors and car backfires in the night. Breakfast was mid. The room had a funny smell and late at night the whole area smelled like sewage. Likely because there is a waste treatment plant nearby. Beds are comfy and AC works well. TV lags out a lot. We were not offered wifi.

The rooms were clean and no cigarette smell or dirty areas/towels/sheets.

Place doesn’t look the prettiest but staff very friendly and rooms are decent .
