The hot tub could use some upgrades. The jets were not very strong and there were no jets by you neck/shoulder area. Only lower back and feet.

Disappointing check in experience. I prepaid the room, but the agent still charged my card 3 times. I gave my card to charge the deposit then she asked again saying she cancelled the previous transaction. It was a total mess. When I checked my bank statement o saw 3 charges from the hotel, told an other front desk agent but she couldn’t even fix, had to wait for the manager to do it. She said she can’t even check out till the manager doesn’t fixed. 5 days later some of the charges still there, manager haven’t replied for the emails for days. Also breakfast was a mess. Attendant was alone, hotel was full, everything was running out. They need to train front desk agents much better, don’t alone them to handle payment till they fully understand the system. Also maintenance left the fan in the room top of kitchen table.

Good location, easy access/exit to highway as well as to downtown, very clean and decent, good breakfast, all appliances work fine, bed comfortable, pillows OK.

WiFi connection is not evident and user-friendly (no instructions on guest card regarding wifi); needed to ask reception for assistance to connect (successful, many thanks to the personnel). The bathtub surface is slippery and might pose a safety hazard, especially for elderly people - simple solution could be just sticking anti-slippery tapes to it.

Breakfast was excellent! We were all happy with the choices, even our one gluten free person. The rooms we had were clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. We loved having 3 TV's. We walked to the Ripley Marina and the California Dreaming restaurant.

NEVER BOOK YOUR RIOM THEOUGH TRIPADVISOR. They hide the cast dir pets and at this hotel it is $100 per stay. Very expensive for one night but I didn't know the fee until I got the confirmation. Facility is clean, quiet and well appointed. We were there for one night and will return but I will be making my own reservation!!!

I’m a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member and stayed here November 10–11, 2025. Unfortunately, this was one of the more disappointing stays I’ve had in the program. The room is quite dated and could really use some refreshing. The vinyl sofa, I’m not sure why it’s still in service. Despite my status, I didn’t receive an upgrade or even a room with a proper view. I was placed facing the hotel’s rooftop mechanical area, where a loud generator or HVAC system runs constantly below the window. It made getting a good night’s sleep very difficult. This felt like one of the less desirable rooms in the building. I booked directly through the Bonvoy app and paid the full member rate, so I expected at least basic comfort and quiet. While I don’t expect special treatment, a peaceful environment should be standard at this price point. I’d recommend looking at other options in Charleston — many nearby properties offer a much better experience for Bonvoy members.
