Americas Best Value Inn Athens

It's a solid basic motel but we had a noisy drink frig that can be annoying if you're a light sleeper.

First when we went to check in you couldn’t go inside and had to check in via a glass window, sketchy. We knew it wasn’t going to be top notch hotel but had to be close to the downtown area for an event. Went into the room where it smelled like cigarettes and weed. Pulled mattresses up to check for bugs, saw a few ants, but even worse found the previous guest “vibrating” toy, gross. To say the least I’m sure beds were not changed. Went down and asked for sheets so we put them on top of current sheets and slept on top of them and covered ourselves up with the towels, that luckily looked clean. All night long there was yelling and doors opening and closing cars coming in and out. They do have a EV charger. We walked to dinner and plugged in our car to come back to what we can only imagine the workers family or friend(because he called the person immediately when we asked if he knew who it was) being parked SO close behind it like they were upset we used the hotels charger. This is a horrible hotel and should be shut down. Burn marks on sheets, bathtubs, dressers, do not stay here. Should be marketed as a by the hour motel.

Had to check in standing outside at the "night window". They did not allow us inside to check in. It was 4 pm, raining, and about 4C/40oF. This is the most basic of basic motels. Reasonably clean, but that is all to recommend it.

Bare minimum motel experience, but safe, quiet and convenient. Good location, short walk to downtown Athens, and bagel place across the street is great for breakfast. Don't forget to ask for the wifi password on arrival. Shower was only very hot or very cold.

There was one bed when we ordered 2. The image online is just flip flopped. The people across the way were smoking something that smelled like burning rubber. There were burn marks all over the counters. We also had a great view into someone’s backyard. We ended up leaving at 2 in the morning because of the poor experience. We were in room 210

I booked a room with two bed and they gave me a room with one bed and said they had no others and that it was Booking.coms fault

Nasty

Close to downtown, walking distance to Sanford Stadium

The staff were rude and disinterested. The rooms were only good to sleep in and not much else. Really not great value, but that's what you get on football weekends. Would I stay again? No.
