We felt the room wasn't to standard cleanliness only one pillow bathroom needed updating bath panel damaged room 208 we have stayed several times Andalways being satisfied

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH OUR STAY. WE FEEL THIS HOTEL IS IN SERIOUS NEED OF A REFURB .

Dirty, dated, uncomfortable , food overpriced, total overall cost of stay was overpriced. Customer service shocking . I have tried to contact the property for a refund but to no avail

I stayed at the Macdonald Tickled Trout Hotel and unfortunately found the room in a poor state—thick dust under the bed, cobwebs, exposed wiring in the corner, and a mouse that ran across the floor and vanished beneath peeling carpet. That said, the woman on reception was fantastic—she was completely understanding, didn’t question my concerns, and immediately issued a full refund, along with free breakfast and parking. No fuss, no pushback—she handled it professionally and with empathy. The hotel clearly has major maintenance and cleanliness issues to fix, but I can’t fault the staff on duty for how they handled it.

First room I was given stank of cigarettes, second room had missed being decorated in a few years, had melted curtain, jaded and very worn furniture and mold and wooden panel swelling in the bathroom. Third room was ok. Hotel needs a massive refurb.

So dated and in much need of a make over. Doors banging until 11pm then away at 5am. Room decor and bathrooms need a full refurbishment. The restraint was also dated and overpriced .. My chicken had blood in it and the £12.50 prawn cocktail was a bowl of lettuce with few small prawns on top.
