"The best stay on Harbour Island!"

10.0

An unforgettable stay from start to finish. The property is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxing, and every detail felt thoughtfully curated. What truly made the experience exceptional was the service. Corey and Courtney went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality elevated our entire trip. We can’t wait to return!

"Exceptional Staff, But the Property Needs Serious Attention"

6.0

Pink Sands has a staff that genuinely cares, and that counts for a lot. But the property itself has enough unresolved issues that I can't give it more than three stars in good conscience. THE HIGHS The service culture here is the real deal. Every day I was greeted as "Ma'am," and the staff had a genuine can-do attitude; no one dragged their feet. Several individuals stood out: • Lucy (Server) was a bright light from the moment I arrived. She is warm, kind, and a wonderful first impression. • Stephan (Sous Chef) worked hard to prepare food I could actually eat given my allergies. That kind of effort doesn't go unnoticed. • Ninja (Manager) stepped up during my last two nights and did her best to accommodate me. She also personally accompanied me from checkout to the airport at checkout; complimentary, and as a private service. A true standout. • Nakita (Server) was a delight. Our conversations made meals genuinely enjoyable. • The gentleman who cleans the beach every morning does a stellar job. Note: some staff were a bit flirty, which may or may not bother you depending on your travel situation. I though this was worth mentioning. The beach is beautiful and perfect for long walks. It's more coral than pink, yet still remarkable, soft, and didn't get hot throughout the day. THE LOWS Food allergies were a serious concern. I experienced several reactions; inflamed tongue and throat, and stomach upset from the fruit, salads, and other dishes. The resort lacks adequate allergen-aware options (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free). This needs to be a priority, and not an afterthought. There was also no pre-arrival outreach to ask about dietary needs or preferences. As far as Villa and Cottage Categories: The "upgrade" to a Cabbage Cay villa was, in reality, a downgrade. This unit should not have been in service: • Loud A/C and fan • Tiny bathroom with a trip hazard • Bathroom door wouldn't close — likely wood swelling from water damage • Peeling frosted glass divider • Visible water damage throughout • A/C vents that looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years • Condensation dripping from the roofline directly over the main door — you'd get dripped on every time you came and went • The mattress was depressed on both sides and in need of replacement • The bathroom appeared designed for two people but had a single, off-center mirror with lights misaligned from the vanity • No table in the room — I had to request one be brought in Other issues: • Lumpy pillows, and a mattress that needs replacement — noticeable at this price point • I was overcharged for breakfasts at checkout • One window faced a bare concrete column — an easy cosmetic fix • Sand burrs on the walking path to the beach from the oceanfront rooms — a safety issue Bottom line: The people here are genuinely wonderful, and if the property matched their standard, this would be a 5-star stay. Right now, there's too wide a gap between the warmth of the staff and the condition of the rooms. I hope management invests in closing it.

"WONDERFUL VACATION - 2BR VILLA WAS HEAVEN"

10.0

We had a truly wonderful experience at Pink Sands. We stayed for 8 nights in the Oceanfront Cottage which is so lovely and you can walk right down to the stunning beach. It was perfect for our family - 2 br and we brought my mom and my 10 month old baby. While baby napped, we were able to relax on the deck. There's so much to do on the island between shopping, boat trips, dining & drinks.. it's the opposite of the type of vacation where you're trapped at the resort. The dinner & breakfast restaurants at the hotel are so lovely and were so accommodating for our baby. One quick note is that service at the hotel could be slightly improved - I think they were a little understaffed, so one morning the room service took a really long time, they didn't have an espresso machine working for a few days, etc. Though I'm of the mind that if you are coming to Harbour Island you should be able to chill and go with the island vibes - its not a corporate type of place where everything is perfect but that's also part of the charm. That being said - there were also moments where the service was exceptional and had such a warm, personal touch. The guys who do food and drink service at the pool and beach were so lovely and attentive, and at times it was nice that they sort of leave you alone and aren't hovering. Overall it was a fantastic experience and we are eager to return!

"A Stay Worth Having"

10.0

Although my stay at the Resort was very short, it was very memorable. As I arrived at the Resort I was greeted by a very friendly Bellman (Dexter) who escorted me to the Front Desk where I met a table full with smiling faces and a warm greeting at the Front Desk (Everica, Astralia & Vanessa). There I was offered a complimentary glass of Sparkling Wine and a short and sweet check in process. As I got to my Amazing Cottage (Bird Cay), there were a few delicious complimentary amenities that greeted us as we opened the door. went over to the Blue Bar where the view of the Ocean was breath-taking. I was greeted by a loving server (Elena) and a cool bartender (Amari). The service there was nothing short of amazing. After resting up a bit, we went to dinner at the Malcolm 51. There was a live band playing great music to go along with the awesome service and nice calm ambience of the restaurant. My servers (Andy & Rose) were pleasant and made sure we were happy the whole time. The bartender (Michael) knows exactly what he's doing because those drinks were very refreshing. But a HUGE shoutout goes to the Chefs (Marvie & Jamaal) that prepared our meal. Also, the Headman (Jakub) keep ensuring that everything was going good for us. Now the night is over and morning arrives, it time to leave. But before we do, my wife went to breakfast at the Blue Bar, the servers (Nakita & Nayda) were attentive and amazing and the chefs (Essie & Crystal) made sure she got exactly what she wanted. She later went to her scheduled massage session. She hasn't stopped talking how great and gentle the massage therapist (Kae) was and how this service was a must have. Upon arriving at the Front Desk for check out, we were greeted again by another smiling Bellman (Rel) and a desk of smiling faces (Everica & Cicely). The Headlady (Romana) came out and made sure that we enjoyed our stay. Overall I must say that this was A Stay Worth Having!!

"Value for money?"

6.0

We stayed there in early January, just after New Year's. I understand that it is high season but when you are paying upwards of 2.000 USD per night, you expect a top notch experience. The hotel is superbly located but has some major flaws which are unacceptable given the prices they charge. - we ordered breakfast in our room every day and the delivery was incorrect every single time. - there was a technical problem with our room. We mentioned it several times but it was never solved. - we booked an ocean view room with a private pool. Several flaws: 1) the wall separating from the next room with a pool has a huge opening which means ZERO privacy. When our neighbors were in their private pool we could see them from our terrace (barely a few feet away) and when we were in our pool, we could see them. - our room had a wonderful view but just below it towards the beach is a shack that serves food and drinks. This meant we got to hear the generator all day long from our terrace and smell the food when they were cooking. - at these rates, you would expect some sort of spa facility. If there was one, I never saw it because they had one therapist who only took reservations until early afternoon. Unheard of in a luxury hotel (with such high rates) where you cannot book a massage for 5 or 6 pm. - do you want to have lunch at the Blue bar and finish off with something sweet? Forget it. Not only do they not have desserts, they don't even have ice cream which simply requires a few inches squared of storage in a freezer. - you want efficient service at the beach? Look elsewhere. Everytime we sat on the loungers at the beach, the attendant came by literally an hour or so later. And don't expect a warm welcome to the beach or a smile either. On a positive note, the staff at reception were always friendly and welcoming. In general, privacy is an issue here. If you book a garden cottage, prepare to have your life exposed to other guests. In a tropical environment where plants grow so easily, it is uncomprehensible that all of the rooms are so exposed. Every time we drove our buggy towards reception, we were surprised by the lack of privacy of the cottage rooms bearing in mind the rates they charge. Would I return? Probably not. It felt like there was no real captain on this ship. It felt like the hotel must have been great at some point in time but no professional hotelier was really putting thought into making it a top notch experience.

"A wonderful first time in the Bahamas"

10.0

We stayed at Pink Sands just after Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. The entire resort is beautiful and our cottage was clean and very comfortable. The restaurant food was great. It was super easy to get around the island with a golf cart. The service was outstanding, from housekeeping to restaurant staff to beach staff. Thank you to Everica, Cicely, Kae, Rel, and Rico specifically for a great stay. We'll definitely be back!

"Great restaurant"

10.0

Excellent dining experience. The service, ambience, and food were all top-notch. It’s clear that the owners have placed a premium on upping their game and it’s now one of the best restaurants on Harbour Island. So many places in the Bahamas are sort of “island time,” but this place really stands out.

"Not what it used to be…"

8.0

⸻ This was our third visit to Pink Sands. Unfortunately, both Pink Sands and Harbour Island no longer have the small, hidden-gem charm they had a decade ago. The island has been discovered, become crowded, and a bit rowdy, with motorized golf carts buzzing everywhere (years ago, there were only a few electric ones). All the conch fritters in town (and at the resort)come from the same frozen brand, deep-fried to order. The resort itself has expanded, with rows of t multi-bedroom, multi-story homes built where the bird preserve once sat behind the cottages. It used to feel romantic and mostly catered to couples; now you’ll find children playing hide-and-seek in the restaurant while Dad takes an important business call on speakerphone. As it’s grown, it’s become less personal. We used to get to know the waiters and bartenders, who remembered our favorites. Now it feels about as friendly as a chain restaurant. Every guest except us had a golf cart, and you constantly had to jump off the narrow paths inside the resort as they sped by. Our “oceanfront cottage” was actually behind another oceanfront cottage and a horse stall, and it was really only half a cottage—attached to another, with a lattice fence separating the “private patio.” While we were there, half the beach was taken over by a photo shoot for suntan lotion or something, so we couldn’t use the stretch of beach near our villa. Yes, the beach is still beautiful, more populated than it used to be, but it was never truly crowded. The water remains crystal clear, and we still had a nice time. Still, it’s sad to see what was once such a quaint, romantic place go downhill.

"Pink Sands-Harbour Island"

10.0

Our stay at Pink Sands was a fantastic week! The food, service, attention to details and friendliness of the staff was second to none. Rel picked us up at the airport and escorted us both to the hotel and back to the airport with a smile and was always helpful during the week. Ask for him to get you there and back if you visit. He made our arrival and departure special and easy. Malcolm 51 and Blue Bar had amazing food and even better service. Everyone we encountered was very welcoming and the Pink Sands beach was the most beautiful of any we’ve been on! We’ll definitely be back.
