Der Frühstücks-Saal hat eine schöne Atmosphäre, und auch die Qualität des Frühstücks ist sehr gut.

Die Paneelbetten sind kurz, ca. 190 cm, mit einem Fußbrett. Auf dem Bauch liegend stieß der Verfasser dieser Beurteilung (180 cm, 78 kg) oben und unten an. Die eh schon zu schmale Matratze fällt an den langen Kanten auch noch etwas ab, so dass die effektive Auflagefläche gerade einmal die eigene Körperbreite ist. Das passt eher zu einer einfachen Jugendherberge.

Le petit-déjeuner, les dimensions de la chambre et de la salle de bains, les salons, la piscine et le sauna ainsi que le parc. C'est aussi bien placé pour visiter Glendalough et les Wicklow mountains.

L'équipement de la salle de bains est d'époque et le réglage eau chaude/eau froide extrêmement difficile.

I love the setting and the grounds are kept so well.

Some areas indoors are a bit dark and I felt a bit cold in the breakfast room.

il bagno non era confortevole ne accogliente. Qualche miglioria andrebbe eseguita anche se la struttura costruita denovo circa 25 anni fa sembra davvero molto vecchia.

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and it has a real old world feel. The spa thermal suite is wonderful, with a pool, indoor and outdoor jacuzzi and sauna etc. We ate in Acton's Country Pub and the food was really excellent (from La Taverna Armento, the Italian restaurant on site).

The room was dated and in need of a fresh look. It was disappointing given the wonderful setting. There was no air conditioning and it was really uncomfortable at night. The staff at reception were friendly but for some reason, when we were asking about dining on the first night, they never mentioned the pub and if we hadn't found it ourselves, we would have been dining on room service (the Italian restaurant was fully booked and the Strawberry Tree Restaurant was fine dining which we didn't want on the first night after a long drive). Breakfast was nice but again underwhelming in the buffet section. The cooked breakfast options were good.

The navigation route to get there took us down some terrible tracks! Best not to use GPS but head first to Aughrim then track to the hotel.
