"Lovely Ski Hotel"

10.0

My wife and I stayed here for a week in January 2019 and had a wonderful and relaxing experience. It is in Tanau, a little distance from the main Baquiera area, which is very quiet but easily accessible to the main slopes using the local chairlift which is about 100m from the hotel. We stayed in a large Deluxe Room with spectacular mountain views, a really comfortable bed and plenty of space for the two of us.We didn't have a car, so were glad we opted for half board, as it meant that we didn't need to find a restaurant at night. We would recommend this for people travelling without a car as there aren't any restaurants close by. We enjoyed eating there every night and found the menu to be of a very high quality and there was an excellent wine list. One thing we enjoyed was the free afternoon snack bar, which was really appreciated after a day on the slopes. We didn't use the spa area, it did look lovely, but we felt it was quite overpriced.During our stay the staff went out of their way to ensure we were well looked after, even dropping us to the nearby village of Arties when a taxi wasn't available ! We would highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay there again if we came back to the area.

"Great hotel, super staff, great skiing base."

10.0

We stayed here for 4 nights, skiing in Baqueira Beret. To set the scene, I'm not a regular 5 star traveler, however for value for money and service the hotel was exceptional. Super friendly welcome, we arrived at 1.30 a.m. from the late flight for Toulouse and they had kept a selection of starters for us to have, which all tasted delicious.Location is great, 2 minutes to the chair that takes you to the heart of the resort. You can ski back within a 3 minute walk, closer if there is enough snow. The rooms are very warm, but we managed to turn the heating off and had the window open, this is not possible on the top floor apparently (the windows do not open). There is a spa, which you pay extra for, and a small pool which you can use for free (nice for a dip after the slopes). There is a nice lounge area with tea/coffee soft drinks and snacks. We stayed half board, and while the menu was the same each night, there is plenty of choice. Wine was delicious and very reasonable (mostly 18-25€ a bottle). Breakfast was the best I've had anywhere, lots of choice, fresh fruit, made to order omelettes, and all the usual cereals/cold meats/cheese etc. Ski lockers and ski hire right outside the hotel (though for board hire you had to walk 2 minutes to the shop by the lift). Superb reception staff, sorted out ski passes for us. We could not have been happier with our stay.

"Very good hotel for skiing, very nice staff"

10.0

We enjoyed very much our trip. The location is very good for skiing, close to the ski lifts and the staff is very professional and nice. Breakfast is very good. After skiing, you could have a snack and a drink playing billiard.

"Very disappointing hotel and very overpriced. This is not a 5 star hotel."

4.0

· Decor maybe 5 star but facilities are 3-4 star. Maitre in restaurant was rude on occasion. Desk staff and bar staff friendly and helpful but drinks were served in incorrect glasses and all gin and tonics served with ice and lemon (not lime, orange, cucumber etc depending on brand of gin). Although this may sound picky, this is now fairly basis and when you are paying 15 Euros for a G&T it should be served correctly. Bar area was tiny and restaurant was also very small and although fine for breakfast, not a place where I would choose to have dinner. This is particularly difficult when there is only one other restaurant nearby otherwise you have to drive. Pool and spa dark, small and basic. Facilities in our room were poor. Fridge did not work, no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. No english channels on tv and could not use the DVD player at first as there were no leads in the back of it. Peeling paint on the walls. Toilet roll holder had fallen off the wall and remained on the floor for the first three days. No plug for the bath so it couldn't initially be used and when a plug was delivered the jacuzzi in the bath did not work. Boot room and lockers were very basic indeed, Matted flooring was ripped and damaged, the lockers had to be opened and locked by the reception staff as no keys were given out. We have stayed in 4 star hotels with far superior facilities. Sorry but this hotel was very disappointing.
