Centara Villas Samui

The hotel was in a quiet location and the beach offered a good amount of privacy. The villa was in a good position which wasn’t overlooked.

The shop was a good distance away with a steep hill to tackle on your return. The villas both internally and externally do require some modernisation and cosmetic touches to make the stay more value for money. This was the third location we had stayed in within Koh Samui, so that we could have a fuller experience of the island and although this was a lovely hotel, it was the most dated and limited in terms of facilities, activities and amenities. It would also benefit from another restaurant, or snack bar and definitely a shop on site that doesn’t have the additional service charge added.

I had an absolutely amazing time here at centara. The staff were outstanding, and my personal hi-light as we stayed for a couple of weeks and got to know them. Specifically Isti stood out to us as she served my family lots and was so friendly and an absolute delight (as well as mam and pia). It's a beautiful area with lots to do, see and explore and I highly recommend for anyone considering a visit. 10/10 all around and a great memory that we will always remember!

Heel erg mooi resort, goed uitgebreid ontbijt. Zeer vriendelijk personeel die alles doen om je verblijf onvergetelijk te maken. Veel mooie huisjes en goed onderhouden resort. Erg groen. Je moet wel goed ter been zijn. Veel trappen op en neer. Mooi prive strand met goede strandbedden. Bij de zwembaden zouden wat meer ligbedden mogen.

Onze kamer met infinity pool was gelegen naast de hoofdweg die leid naar het hotel. Op zich geen hele drukke weg, maar wel daardoor minder aantrekkelijk dan de foto’s op Booking. com. Wat meer begroeiing naast de pool, en wat beplanting op het balkon zou veel goed maken. Het resort ligt wat ver ( 45 min) van het echte leven en centrum. Resort bied shuttlebus aan op gezette tijden. Maar met een taxi of grab kom je ook overal. Samui is over het algemeen een wat prijziger eiland.

The hotel location is beautiful, with nice vegetation, pools and private beach.

The facilities are aging and clearly suffer from a lack of maintenance. We encountered a long list of issues during our stay, which the staff addressed with varying levels of responsiveness. These included a non-functioning toilet upon arrival, a dirty balcony, heavy curtains fixed to the wall that could not be opened (apparently a cheap substitute for proper window shades), bathroom towels left on the floor and not replaced, and long waiting times for room service, among others. While the facilities and villas look attractive from the outside, a closer inspection reveals that they are quite worn, and cost-cutting on maintenance is evident. This is really a pity, as the potential is there. This hotel is not suitable for people with mobility issues or families with small children due to the large number of steps between the lobby, villas, and the beach/breakfast area. This important information is not mentioned anywhere during the booking process and is not visible in the hotel pictures. It feels deliberately hidden and only becomes apparent at check-in. As a result, I had to carry both of my small children up and down the stairs throughout our stay. Breakfast is very basic and not what one would expect from a 4-star hotel.

Centara Villas Samui is a beautiful and luxurious resort located in the south of Koh Samui, Thailand. After 3 years I still come over here for a visit, nice to see you always back again 🫶 specially you my darling goong ❤️

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the warmest welcome from the staff, who were friendly and always ready to help. The property is surrounded by lush greenery, with beautifully maintained gardens that are perfect for peaceful walks. The atmosphere is calm and refreshing, making it easy to disconnect from the busy city life. The beach is quiet and serene, ideal for relaxing, taking slow walks along the shore, or simply enjoying the sound of the waves. Everything about this place feels thoughtfully designed for rest and comfort. Overall, it’s a truly amazing destination for a relaxing and memorable vacation
