Staff were very helpful. We were given a choice of rooms to suit our family. We enjoyed our evening meal and then our breakfast

At breakfast the Sausages weren’t as cooked as we would have liked, the food felt warm rather than hot

"We would give it a 4 out of 10 & because of this we will not be returning."

The location was great & the food was amazing.

Disappointed that there wasn’t a swimming pool as advertised We also wasn’t happy that we had to pay for a latte as it wasn’t included in our breakfast . The bedrooms & bathrooms could do with an overhaul in terms of decoration & be cleaner.

"Great value for a peaceful, country house hotel stay"

Peaceful hotel, well located for transport links but with a country house feel. Friendly staff throughout my stay. I got an upgrade on arrival to a nice room overlooking the grounds. Breakfast was great value and served in a lovely location. I especially liked being able to walk out into the re-wilded golf course, which should turn into a beautiful nature reserve in future.

Hotel is quite difficult to navigate around, as it is sprawling over several buildings. I investigated the gym, but it didn't look appealing (small and unwelcoming), so I didn't use it.

"Enjoyable overnight stop"

First things first. The Hall Garth is a 3 star. It is what it is. Yes, it’s a bit tired. Yes, a £1m makeover would do it the world of good, but that’s not going to happen is it? Our room was comfortable and very clean if somewhat dated. We took a bar meal in the evening and very nice it was too. The breakfast was excellent and had the added advantage of wonderful views across the extensive grounds. The staff throughout were superb, very friendly indeed. The biggest drawback was the bar lounge area. Whilst the actual bar was modern and well stocked, the seating area is a terrible function room with no atmosphere Wouldn’t cost a lot to redesign this, subtler lighting, turn the local radio station off. Would we stay again, yes of course we would. Worth it for the breakfast alone was Moderna d
