The Manor Elstree

A friend and I went for scones and a cuppa on 12th May. Kate or Katie gave excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble, she was so kind and helpful and really does a superb job of looking after her guests. The cup of tea we had was amazing after the coffee but I cannot remember which company it is? One small thing was we asked for scones, jam and cream but it came with more cake etc and as it was only 11.00 we did not really want it all so maybe it has to be clear on the menu this is the case. Also maybe mobile phones should be banned when you are trying to enjoy a nice cuppa in nice surroundings as way too intrusive. That is why I gave it 4 stars but Kate/Katie's service was definitely five. Thank you.

Felt isolated in room as was down a corridor and down some stairs. Corridor in darkness until you moved Furniture in room seen better days. Terrible coffee at breakfast

breakfast was great, you could choos contintental or from the menu. room was clean and room enough for a night. Batchroom was clean and comfortable.

Beds were a bit too bouncy, I prefer more firm beds. continental breakfast was fine, but would prefer to have more fresh options.

Room was decorated nicely, bathroom was clean But rather tired and in need of upgrading. Staff were friendly but clearly inexperienced in waiting. Would stay again...

Service in the restaurant Wine not opened just plonked on the table with 2 glasses. Having to re request water..remind them that we'd ordered already, can I have some cutlery.. Bit faulty towers but wouldn't stop me rebooking!!

The bed felt like a cloud! Greeted by super friendly reception staff, room was clean, warm and cosy. Shower was lovely, hotel grounds also perfect.

We did have dinner and it could’ve been slightly better. We both had Foccacia starter which was 3 slices of bread, unfortunately for us both, the bread was cold and very stale and the corners were inedible due to being so hard. The burger patty was also quite chewy and grisly unfortunately.

i love the age and and history of the Manor hotel, beautiful inside and out, with lovely views down to London some miles distance, nice helpful staff, full English breakfasts, and evening dinning with a choice to suit most pockets, it can be reached by taxi from Elstree and Borhamwood train station, the Thameslink trains are frequent down into London, it is possible to walk too and from the hotel if you need to to visit Elstree, at a little over one mile, but the roads are very busy

all was well, i can't think of anything to dislike
