The Haycock Manor Hotel

Very friendly and helpful staff, polite and thoughtful. All areas clean and to tidy. Shower really easy to use and bed comfortable.

The hotel is very quaint and old. Made out of sandstone (as is the very quaint surrounding village) and has lots if history. It has been modernised and now has additional bedrooms some, like ours, with a patio leading to well maintained and extensive gardens. The main hotel building housed a reception, dining room, bar and lounge all well maintained and clean.The rooms were clean and well appointed with a large screen TV and a modern bathroom. The food was very good and nicely cooked and presented.

The hotel design creates a main hotel building with satellite rooms coming off of a main unsheltered thoroughfare. The route from the dining room to a bed room necessitated a route that takes you out side of any cover. The car park is accessed by this uncovered thoroughfare and although not too far away, has no covered walkway. This did not cause a problem until we vacated our room it was raining hard. To return our key cards then go to the car park with cases resulted in both of us getting very wet.

The staff were excellant.
