Hilton Belfast

Fantastic hotel. Good atmosphere, as you would expect at the Hilton and from the room to the bar and the reception area, I had a great experience. The staff were all friendly and professional. The room was excellent, exactly why I prefer the Hilton and the location is super, because you have Lanyon Place train station a stones throw away with a footbridge that has wheelchair access, leading from outside the hotel to across from the station. The river Lagan is just around the corner and Belfast centre is not far to walk to also. I can also attach photos of the footbridge. Breakfast was scrumptious too. Also the bed is of a high quality.

The location was good as I was going to a concert at the Auditorium next door. The entrance to the hotel was a bit tricky to find walking, at first I ended up at the back of the hotel towards the canal.

The breakfast was a big let down. The juice was low quality and it was not possible to order anything (like poached eggs), there was only a buffet for hot food. I was missing fresh baguettes, crispy bacon, poached eggs (or even eggs benedict), freshly made omelettes and pancakes, and most importantly freshly squeezed orange juice. This is what I was expecting at the Hilton, and for the price.

I did not like the way the receptionist that checked us in said the day bed was made up, my partner asked why, she said we requested it, we said we did not as only 2 of us. She said it would be put away and she would amend the booking therefore when we called that the tv was not connected and would not work, we asked for a radio, they brought one about an hour later and this also was broken. We asked to change rooms as we had booked a junior sweet on a week night for over £300! Thai then was another receptionist and he was rude and abrupt saying “the room is for 3, we have no rooms for 3 available” when I explained it was only 2 of us and we said this at check in he said they still had nothing else to accommodate us and offered us a drink, we said no to this and when we were in the bar later a bar tender still brought a drink over. For such a beautiful hotel this made us feel uncomfortable It’s not often we get a child free night away and it ruined it for us.
