Very friendly concierge and a good first impression of the hotel at check-in was dampened by the feeling of "tiredness" once in the nicely sized room - the veneer on the desk was bubbling and the suitcase stand was missing a number of the protective cross members and there was a large spot in the carpet. The bathroom was nice size and very clean but here we found the soap holder was broken and hanging at an angle. When returning to the hotel for what we hoped would be a lovely pool and sauna/spa we had a mixed experience - the no-diving pool was clean and at a lovely temperature (could use some plants to "warm" it up) but the sauna was turned off (70C and soon 55C ). The concierge said he had not had the safety training needed in order to open the glass case containing the sauna controls and turn it back on and so the sauna we had looked forward to was a non event. At checkout we mentioned this to the female concierge on duty and her response was "I'll inform the management." Earlier in the day we had met a lovely Welsh woman who suggested where to eat in Caernarfon so our first encounter with the restaurant was for our (included) but otherwise £15/person breakfast and it was not a happy experience - we both had French Toast with Maple bacon and the one thin slice of bread and two pieces of bacon was hardly worth the £5 premium above the £10 continental breakfast. We were stunned to find that the two very small jars of jam put on our table were half empty! 3.5 stars.

Staff great. Bedroom great. Pool area and changing facilities shabby. Poor menu/choice although what we had was lovely.

I've stopped here a few times and it has always been a great stay. The only negative I can come up with is that this time I stopped in the family room for the first time with my 2 boys who are 13 and 15 years old and I was shocked the single bed was more like a camp bed. I thought it was going to be a proper single bed, as my boys are both tall, I was the one in the camp bed, it wasn't the best night's sleep. My advice would be to get proper quality single beds for the family rooms. On an ending note, it is still a superb hotel to stay and me and the boys had a brilliant weekend.

Room was large but a bit dingy. Bathroom light was on a timer which was annoying especially at night. We couldn't check-in early because the hotel had been full the night before, so couldn't tell if it would otherwise have been allowed. First time we went to use the pooll it was 'full' so had to wait 15 mins. Changing rooms were small and difficult to use - go in swim things or minimal clothing. On the plus side. Breakfast was good with a number of cooked options, plus nice selection of cold items on a buffet. Room was large with plenty of storage space, big TV, nice bathroom complete with bidet and usual things like hair dryer and iron. We turned off the radiator so room was pleasantly cool. We ate in the bistro one evening where the food was a little pricey but very enjoyable. My overall opinion was a great hotel in very pleasant setting with nice staff.I could imagine it as a super wedding venue.

We stayed there in April, went there for a short break and charge up. The attraction for us was it’s is quite location and Spa. The place is nice, probably needs bit of maintenance work. There was a storm overnight and it seems to have knocked out electricity. This is an unfortunate situation but a well managed hotel should be able to deal with this especially when you have a wedding party staying....Unfortunately it was managed poorly. There was no cooked breakfast but at least could have offered some more choice of cold food (one of the staff could have gone to local supermarket and produced a better spread). We could have been offered more beverages in the room as we were more or less stuck (no shower, no TV, no pool or gym facilities or coffee making facility in the room). No one really apologised nor offered something for the trouble all guests had to go through. Over all this points out how poorly managed the facility is, so the hotel should be avoided.
