"Very disappointing"

4.0

The hotel has lots of history and is in a lovely village. The staff are friendly. These are the positives. In the other hand the prices do not equate to the level of luxury. The rooms and common areas are very tired. The bath ran at a trickle. The radiator’s valve to adjust the heat had snapped off so it was like sleeping in a sauna. At breakfast the fruit had run out and not replenished. We arrived in the pouring rain and the parking is a walk away with none to greet us with umbrellas. There are much nicer small pubs like The Featgered Nest close by with a much higher level of comfort and half the price. It honestly felt like a rip off.

"Great two night getaway"

10.0

We went to the Lygon Arms for a birthday/wedding anniversary break . We had stayed there before so we knew what to expect. Once again we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who were keen to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. We had booked bed and breakfast for two nights as we knew the breakfast would be ample for the rest of the day. We have eaten in the main restaurant before and it was very good. However we chose to eat in the Tavern next door which is part of the hotel complex. The meal was excellent. It didn’t have the desert we wanted so we went for cocktails in the hotel bar and had a strawberry knickerbocker glory which is divine. All this served by a charming waitress Nicky . The next day the breakfast was served by attentive staff who although very busy were happy and friendly. I went for a massage treatment in the spa and was given first class treatment by Lucy a very experienced masseuse. Also use of the swimming pool is very helpful. The room we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. Away from the main building but still close enough for all the amenities. Broadway is a lovely place and for a two night stay it has all you need to explore the Cotswolds. We will definitely go back to the Lygon in the future.

"Exceptional"

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and can highly recommend it. The hotel itself is full of history, character and charm. From the moment you enter, you can feel its unique atmosphere, combining tradition, elegance and a remarkable sense of heritage. Everything was beautifully maintained, well organised and managed with great attention to detail. The restaurant was excellent, and the overall experience was truly memorable. Staying here felt like much more than simply staying in a hotel; it was a unique experience in a place full of personality and history. What impressed us most, however, was the exceptional service. Every member of staff was friendly, professional and genuinely committed to ensuring that guests had the best possible stay. We would especially like to thank Aril and Maila. Their professionalism, kindness and willingness to help were outstanding. They assisted us with every request we had, including some particularly difficult matters, and always found a solution quickly and efficiently. Their support made a real difference to our stay and is one of the main reasons why we will remember this hotel so fondly. Thank you to Aril, Maila and the entire team for making our visit so enjoyable. We would be delighted to return in the future.

"A pleasant enough stay but definitely over priced"

7.0

We paid £335 for one night which we feel was expensive, the breakfast was nice but nothing out of the ordinary. We have stayed in hotels that have been as good or even better for less. We booked as it was a special occasion and also booked to have afternoon tea, the service was good and staff very nice but again we have had better afternoon teas for half the price I think you are paying for the name. Generally it was a nice hotel but in my opinion was a bit overpriced so if I ever go to stay in the Cotswold again i will look for an alternative.

Not add extra service charges on drinks etc
