Hotel 2000 Kavaklidere

The room was small but was clean and in good condition, bathroom was ok, i did not find tv channels in english, only turkish. Breakfast was not so good, they offer different kind of cheese, salad, ham and bread. The location was ok for my purpose, close to different embassies

Clean rooms. Good location. Near to business locations. Nice staff.

I stayed four nights. Cleaning the room is alright. Replenishing of refreshments and water never done. Nothing was supplied till I complained on the fourth night. Apparently there is no supervisor to check rooms after cleaning was done.

Clean room, nice and welcoming staff. Neighborhood is great for hangouts. Lots of cafes and bars in walking distance and if you're planning your trip based on a business with the US embassy, it's just a five minutes walk.

I felt like I was bothering the front desk staff when I arrived to check in. He was curt, just checked us and didn't offer any welcome or tell us anything about the breakfast or other amenities. Also, the lobby was real dark with lights out. First I thought they might be closed but it seems that was the norm. Additionally, the hallways and stairways are dark and have motion sensor detectors to turn on the light. I commend them for not wasting energy but it also makes the hotel feel creepy. Another thing that I found odd was the furniture in the lobby. They were upholstered with plastic material. Not vinyl but plastic! Breakfast was traditional breakfast and was good with different varieties of cheese, bread, olives, etc.

People at reception were not very friendly. But there is a person who named Hasan and he was very helpful and very friendly. Also internet connection was not well managed. They have good quality internet. But since they are using several routers the quality was not necessarily good.

I prefer Best Wetern Hotel for my business trips to Ankara. Location is very conveniant and services are quite good.

I will say my complaints first: the room was quite warm and the air conotioner didn't work. It was freezing outside but still too warm inside. They offered to change rooms but we had way too much stuff and we had already settled in. The door lock malfunctioned several times (3) before it was fixed. The breakfast on most mornings was cold (things that should have been hot). Not 4 Star service in the restaurant but it was okay. Now the good things: the housekeeping staff was very nice ...really all the staff. The location, even though a bit noisy outside (even at night) is close to some nice areas for shopping and is a five minute walk to the American Embassy. Good restaurants near by; I would stick with the Turkish food ...although I like Turkish food.
