St. Nicolas Bay Resort Hotel & Villas

Overall had a good time at St Nicolas Bay Resort Hotel and Spa. Positives were beautiful grounds, clean and new rooms (we stayed in the junior deluxe club sea view suite), a few options for eating at hotel, very good spa facilities and treatments; friendly staff; very good views, good restaurants within 15-25 minutes walk to town, few options for sunbathing (pools, beach and rocks), good parking facilities, and they kindly let us have a late check-out 19:00 pm. Less positives were food and service was mixed and pricie (I guess price is what you'd expect for a resort, but we found the quality elsewhere a lot better for much less). Our shower had really good water pressure but wouldn't drain / blocked so had to turn off during shower when washing hair. I travelled with my sister and we spent 5 days at resort, I had requested a twin bed room but they couldn't provide. Also very difficult to get sun-bed near the pool. You have to go early and put your towel down. Overall we loved Crete and the beach and weather was the absolute highlight!

Lovely comfortable hotel with super sea views. Excellent polite staff, very efficient in their duties. Good breakfast selection with hot and cold buffet items. Also a hot items menu to choose from and cooked fresh and brought to your table along with a choice of tea and coffee. Selection of places to relax and sunbathe, either by the sea or by the pool.

Nice hotel in a great location with beautiful grounds, Amazing Staff, really good breakfast and 20 min walk to town. Rooms lacking a bit and doesn't feels like a five star hotel therefore a bit overpriced in my opinion but overall a good choice to stay and definitely recommended.

First class hotel ,well located with beutiful sea views offering excellent and friendly staff service. Our room enjoyed great views over the pool area of the Bay, and was kept spotlessly clean, as was the whole hotel resort. We found the Hotel quiet and a little lacking in atmosphere in the evenings, but a six Euro taxi ride (all Mercedes)to Agios Nicolas, provides a lovely clean and interesting small town with a great choice of restaurants, tavernas, and bars.

We stayed for a week, and just enjoyed staying around the pool and near the sea. Everything was excellent,and we did not feel the need to go anywhere else!

A great stay with lovely staff, great breakfasts, beautiful weather and amazing surroundings.

We stayed here for one week. The hotel amenities are good, we had a delux room sea front with lovely views. Personally I wouldn't pay extra for a suite with a pool unless you don't mind swimming in a box, walls either side for privacy although the rooms above can look directly down onto your pool and terrace area. Good friendly efficient staff, plenty of sun beds and beach towels. The majority of beds. Are on stone/concrete terraces, functional but not pleasing to the eye. The site was always windy, great if it's very hot but on cooler days this may be a problem. Also if you are not able to get a space on the very small beach or around the pool lots of steps to negotiate. The resort was very peaceful and quiete both during the day and evening. We were on half board so we could have lunch on the buffet restaurant but if we chose to ate in the other restaurants we received a 25% discount on food, a little mean, I thought it might be a supplement for certain items. We were not allowed to swop HB option to lunchtime, only the 25% discount. We ate three times in the hotel in the evening the buffet selection was perfectly adequate, we also chose to select off the very small menu in the buffet but was very disappointed with both the quality and quantity produced. We had a few lunches but we're very disappointed, very basic dishes, and very expensive compared to restaurants locally. I recommend lunch at piato, within walking distance. Excellent hosts, food, and price.

it was our wedding anniversary and when our daughter mentioned it to reception they baked us a lovely cake on the day and delivered it to our room.Lovely staff , hotel and setting.
