Rambler Hotel

From the time I reserved my room until I left, the staff were wonderful. Having access to a bike while there made my stay incredible.

I've stayed here many times and would love to come back, but it's a shame the coffee shop will stop giving discounts on 1/1/26. My medium coffee with breakfast bagel/egg/+bacon was $10, which was $3 less than a similar McDonald's meal, and a $5 discount from the regular price. The coffee is not bad black. Didn't need creamer. Good but could be improved. Light nears better than starbucks though! The cheaper rooms are on the freeway side so there's car noise there. I prefer staying on the bay side. Can I suggest at least a 2 or 3% discount at the coffee shop for guests?

Courteous and welcoming staff. The motel has been completely renovated, and the rooms are clean and well-maintained. The housekeeping staff did a great job in daily housekeeping. The on-site cafe/coffeeshop is a nice amenity, and the coffee was very good! Overall, a pleasant experience.

up on my arrival I didn’t think it was gonna be such a bad stay. Staff was nosy wanted to know who I was gonna bring over and to write their name down so they can give me an extra key. The room keys kept malfunctioning every day my first night there the toilet wouldn’t flush the shower was backing up so was the sink real bad plumbing. The rooms are very small and when you enter into the bathroom, there’s no privacy no door! There was the daily check-in with an attitude problem with the front office staff would not let me use my Apple Pay my Apple wallet they wanted to pick and choose what I can pay with. And get ready for the $100 deposit without warning also there is a daily increase on your rooms rate. The room is with no microwave no ironing board or iron like I said by far this is the worst place I stayed in by far in San Diego County The only reason why I stay there is because It brought back some memories from the past of sentimental value for me the room got cold so I checked out.

Pleasantly surprised! We were looking for a place to stay. We did not want to spend another vacation in my mother-in-law’s living room on couches and cots. We were looking for something comfortable and simple. Once we arrived at the Rambler, we were very happy. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. My daughters loved the shower. We loved the retro motif throughout the motel. We loved the arcade games, pinball machines, and the cool touches of the 70’s throughout. We were at the Rambler for eight days. We will definitely come back.

This is a great place to stay. Very convenient - quick access off fwy. It is close to a great walking area. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. There is onsite coffee shop (but no coffee in the room) Room was very quiet at night and beds ver comfortable. We were there over Thanksgiving and value was good.

I've always liked old school motels and this one definitely fits the bill. It has the old school motel feel, but at the same time has all the moderate amenities you could want. The staff was above and beyond nice and helpful. Having the coffee shop and the restaurant right on site was awesome. This is definitely going to be on my places to stay list when I visit San Diego.

The bed was comfortable. I also liked the shop and cafe on site.

Wi-fi is pretty much nonexistent
