Baymont by Wyndham Pierre

I have stayed in better motels at $29.95. OK, that was some time ago, but this is a motel that Wyndham should be ashamed to be associated with. No soap. Dirty floors. Mold in bathroom. Little control of air-conditioning. Bed saggs. Looks bad - is bad. Arrived at lobby & it was 90 degrees. Hostess said A/C was broken. I recommend you stay somewhere else. BAD WINDHAM

The air conditioner was so loud banging wind told them didn't do anything about it. They only have 2 towels in a double queen bed room in the whole bathroom. I asked for more didn't have anymore! awful customer service. Will never stay there again!

Arrived at 9pm and the front office was already closed, so I had to call them on my cell to come out. Was first given a room that housekeeping hadn't visited since the last guest - bed unmade, trash on the floor, etc. Had to phone the desk again so they could come back out and swap rooms. Guess I'm lucky it wasn't a full house... New room was OK, but the mattress was hard in a very cheap feeling way, and the window A/C unit was clearly not operating at full strength... took a couple hours to get it down around 70 where I like it. Window unit was also dripping all over the carpet. My room was in the one-story building on the right, and I got the feeling the sketchy, tatted-up folks I saw smoking in the parking lot may be long-term residents. Might be best to request avoiding that second building if you can. Aside from the bed and A/C, the room was... fine, superficially. There was some small trash behind a chair. I got the feeling cleanliness is not a high priority for the owners, but that's mainly just from the person at the front desk and being given an unmade room initially. It was survivable and preferable to sleeping in my car. I travel through middle America a lot, and this wasn't the worst motel I've encountered, but it was below average and grossed me out a bit. Unfortunately, Pierre is a dreadful town for lodging, at least in the summertime. The only couple highly rated no-frills chains are in the $200/night range... double or more what I'm used to seeing in most places. So unless you want to fork that over, you're pretty much stuck staying somewhere like this - or even worse rated places on Sioux Ave. - for $100/night.

Our friends key card didn't work when we returned laye night. Even though the lobby was open and we used the lobby phone to summons a clerk no one ever came.

Stayed at this hotel for a business trip. The staff was friendly and helpful. The employee Axel went over and above to make sure my stay was enjoyable and was very pleasant to visit with.

My wife and I stayed in Pierre as part of our 20-day travel across the US and Canada. All hotels were within this price point, but this had to be our lowest experience. I cringed when I noticed the pest strip full of dead flies hanging directly above the serving dishes for eggs and sausage. The front door entrance was propped fully openwhen we arrived and was still propped open when we went to bed at 11:15 p.m.. It was open again when we got up at 6:00 a.m., so I can only assume it was left open all night. That normally wouldn't be a problem, except it didn't appear that anybody maintains the front desk. My wife and I sat and watched TV for 10 minutes while we rang the bell waiting for service at 5:10 pm when we arrived. In fact, I had started calling the reservation desk on my phone to try and get their attention...when the lady eventually appeared. She had been in her room down the hall making her dinner. An hour later when I came out to ask about Wi-Fi, I had to get the information from another hotel guest, because the front desk had no one there and they were not responding to the Bell. What this Motel offered was disappointing. Both their website, and Expedia, list that there are laundry facilities available to guests. We were told that was never the case when we arrived. Both my wife and I were scalded in the shower as the cold water came and went. In the morning, we had to exit the motel through the housekeeping area, after the ice machine flooded the hall.

The person at the desk was wearing a stained and sloppy t-shirt with no bra despite definitely needing one. It was really unkempt and made us question even staying. The bed had no cushion at all and the smell of the fabuloso product was really really strong. Air conditioning unit was not working properly.

Check in was slow. Had to pick up phone to get someone there in the afternoon. Wanted to get change for soda machine. They do not keep change there. Then was told the machines rarely work. Vending machine was out of order. Was told to go across the street to the gas station if I wanted something. Had just ridden all day. Did not want to go to the gas station at 10 pm.

Good place to stay. The rooms are clean.
